Their CM's arent workhorses anymore. Henderson, Wijnaldum and Fabinho were what made them. Buying Thiago whilst still trying to play the same way hasn't worked. Selling Mane who set the tone for the high press was also a mistake.

Could just be a weird season too with the WC at a ****** time of the season, at least thats what im telling myself.

If they have a disproportionate amount of excercise induced asthmatics is it just sensible gaining of that 5-10 percent advatage....or it is cheating?

I don't like Liverpool. I do believe they are protected and if they could cheat..they would.

In reality that is my entrenched loathing of that team. They have injuries and some ordinary players. VVD has dropped a level and TAA is a poor right back

They are relying on two kids they stole from Fulham.

Their squad doesnt run deep. Their lack of injuries previously was as big a part of their success as their brand of football.

Klopp has been there a long time. That is not the norm in footy. Maybe he turns it around but if he doesnt that is the natural cycle of football

Liverpol to be swallowed up by the pack. Top 6 team now with the rest.
It's possible the players are tuning out Klopp. That's been known to happen when a manager/coach has been in place for a long time. Surprised it hasn't happened to Pep yet. I think Sir Alex was a bit of an anomaly.

I think these teams aim to peak October and again in Feb.

World Cup has messed it up I guess.

The footy has been bad though. Tbf Chelsea and Spurs are pretty bad to watch imo - apart from, ironically, against eachother.

I don't know if that is a result of a weird season or the pl becoming more like old school serie A. I always say it is the best league but I don't believe that now. The championship is probably an objectively more competitive and entertaining league. Serie A is lower quality but probably more competitive.

There is the top 6 in the Pl maybe plus Newcastle now and the rest will largely try to s.hithouse their way through a whole match for a point and sometimes grab a largely cheap and undeserved victory. Fair play to them they need to stay up but it doesnt make for a compelling worthwhile footy match.

Most games literally look the same to me. Chelsea games are actually more interesting when they play badly and lose control of the game. Opens up more spaces to actually create. Otherwise we will have a metronomic grip on possession and create.....f.uck all against a low block accompanied by time wasting.

Spurs and Conte which is his style will actually try and cede possession to lesser teams to actually get proper counters in. Creates some dreadful matches too though

Liverpool to their credit are at least objectively interesting to watch.

I think we a season away from a rule change . Weight the game to the attackers and give bonus points for goals and punish negative tactics such as no points for a nil nil draw.

The PL will be the biggest sporting comp in the world. Hence the Americans but the entertainment itself is less than assured. This season has been diabolical.

I talk about if far more than I watch the f.ucker.

Take draws out of the game like the NBA and MLB. Go straight to penalties if full time ends in a draw in regular time. For cup matches keep the extra time minutes but for regular league game, penalties as soon as FT is up.

That damn ability to draw a game with unattractive play is what helped to kill test match cricket in smaller nations.

Conte said himself the teams training was catered to peak at around January. Maybe some truth to that but the bloke comes out with a different excuse after each loss so I dunno how much to read into that tbh.

I've not been that entertained by most premier league games for about 3/4 years now. You get the odd good back and forth game but they are mainly stalemates or one sided drubbings. Man city are just a machine and I have no interest in Haaland either. Good player no doubt but it's boring as hell.

I would be up for a rule change tbh. What ever happened to them experimenting with a sin bin? Change up throw ins too. They are boring and usually go backwards. Let them one arm throw it or something.

Also loved the way the amricans used to do penalties before the MLS where you had to dribble it from the half way line like in hockey.

I don't hate a draw but for sure like you say - playing negatively and time wasting for a draw is killing the sport at the top level just as much as VAR for me.

Love cricket as well and can see that. Quite like how England have gone balls to the wall recently in tests. Will probably get slapped by Aussies doing it but they are defo increasing their chances of winning test matches.

Time wasting is a huge issue in footy. I am not saying stop the clock like ice hockey but in most 90 min games now we are getting about 40 mins of real play. I would have played longer matches than that when I was about 12 years old games I played in were 70 mins but in real terms our games would have been longer than these elite footballers are playing. Then when I was 17/18 the games would probably be 30 mins longer in real terms at least.

Fat Trev is playing a longer match for The Dog and Duck than Haaland after 15 pints the night before. I guarantee it

It is disgusting really. Almost a con for me. I am close to not being able to watch it I am just b.itching through games even at the team I support.

Something needs to be targeted like genuinely enforce thr 10 second rule for keepers and give indirect free kicks. Same for throw ins. And just book people for time wasting.

In the prem you will get half the league wasting time from the moment the game starts. It is farcical.

I wonder if kids will be turned off footy. The players are better now but the game is absolutely worse.

Easy fix is make the points 3 for a win, 0 for a non-win ie make a draw the same as a loss. Watch how fast teams stop the play for a draw bullshit.

Interesting thing is, scoring was up again last year in the Premier League. Not quite as high as in Serie A, Bundesliga, and Eradivisie, but starting to get in the ballpark. This year I haven't had time to run the numbers but I'll probably take a quick peak when the World Cup break hits.

                  Woof.

                  Chelsea were awful.

How comes when Pulisic is any good he will certainly get injured but now he is possibly the worst forward in the premier league he is a man of steel.

He will absolutely score a goal vs England at the WC just to absolutely take the p.iss.

It is all confidence but he needs to get himself away. He's not a good player.

Pulisic wouldn't be US Soccer's Golden Boy if it wasn't for the fact that he has the "correct" pigmentation. Chelsea needs to buy some defenders in the January transfer window BAD. Gets some back liners who can actually play defense, and lose the damn wingbacks. The Chelsea wingback fetish just needs to go away already.

                      Chilwell hamstring tear.

Him and James and Kante get miss a third of every season.

Chelsea aren't a particularly good team but their best players other than Mount are massively unreliable makes the team uncompetitive.

Gonna be tough for Potter managing this team. Loads of problems and some pretty weak players he has to lean on.

Will get beat by 2 or 3 by a confident Arsenal. They don't have the energy or quality despite the crazy money spent on some average players to compete for 90 mins.

Chelsea need to really get recruitment right otherwise they are gonna get stuck in football purgatory.

To me I think we are the new Man U. There is nothing there other than the ones I have mentioned. I have seen good Chelsea teams. This team is really weak. The weakest for at least 20 years.

Chelsea will lose easily to Arsenal, City and Newcastle imo
