It would be interesting to see how Graham Potter does at Chelsea if that’s who they decide to go with. Obviously there’s a lot less expectation and pressure at Brighton but he has done well there and has Brighton playing really good football, even after losing their two best players.

Chelsea havent been that good since Feb or even earlier.
Only won 8 or 9 home games in the league last season.
Tuchel is a top manager but I dont believe he was turning it around. I have backed him up until maybe the last few weeks.
It gets to the point where no individuals are playing very well. After spending the money he has. It wasnt really prudent to back him. Spending loads and losing high value players for pittance but with no player really finding form
For whatever reason - no attackers flourished under Tuchel.
Overall Tuchel was excellent. A top top manager and tactically astute. The players just got burnt out by him in the end. He has a reactive style which is fine but the shelf life is always less because once you stop winning the football isn't very good and it becomes really tedious and hard to flick the switch and be more proactive.
Chelsea simply cant break down a determined low block aided by time wasting. Most of their games are the same.Last edited by Sparked_26; 09-07-2022, 04:27 PM.

Tuchel is a good manager. He’s in that second tier with Pochettino. Man only won 1 trophy before Chelsea and before PSG with Dortmund. Went to PSG and won what Poch did. So, I feel he’s that tier below Klopp, Pep, Ancelotti, Jose, Conte, Zidane. Around Poch, Bielsa, Nagelsmann etc.
I’m actually surprised he got sacked so abruptly, did he really wig out with Boehly & co that badly?
As for Potter, I am all for it. This feels like an opportunity to do something different at Chelsea for once since 2004. No high profiles, no Lamborghinis, no special ones. But something like what Man United tried to do with Moses but in Potter who is a good coach, good temperament, knows the league, no culture issues generally speaking, and doesn’t seem to have any ego either.
so I’m all for Potter. Patrick Vieira is probably the next top coach in development though, imo. One day that guy will probably be top top level coach.StarshipTrooper likes this.

But I'm with you, Potter is a great hire imo. It's also a new kind of appointment for Chelsea as well. Something different for the first time since 2004.
It's official now too. Potter is the new Chelsea manager.
