Yeah you would have to imagine he would go to PSG or City if he left. One dark horse Could be Chelsea with the way they’ve been spending like it’s 04/05 again.

Sugar daddy Roman just sold his shares Worth 1.5 billion in a gold company so he has a fresh new injection of cash to splash on everything and everyone. FFP in shambles.

But it is nice to have supporters of the other clubs spooked again. There is no doubt Chelsea have dropped off because we stopped buying world class players. We are in a position now where we are only looking for first teamers and can augment the squad and first team with academy players. Conte was a great manager but he bought so many squad players that is put us in a bad spot.

Also Lampard has been driving the signing this time rather than characteristics being churned through some sort of algorithm and spitting out Kepa, a legacy of Sarriball.

We will see though. I dont think its possible for Chelsea to win the league straight away but the expectation has to be that we challenge. Making up 30 odd more points?

I'm excited but I think we could still finish 3rd or 4th.

That's not it. The signings made pretty much from Bakayoko and Drinkwater to Kepa. Was all Marina.

Emenalo resigned from his technical director spot. Which was essentially the "football knowledge" to Marina's "business knowledge"

Once he left, Marina was just making decisions pretty much on her own. She by all means was the Director of Football solely, she just doesn't understand football like that and her signings showed.

Now it's Cech in a lesser power version of Emenalo's position. Which is likely why we are seeing transfers that actually make sense.

Not Drinkwater for 40m with 100k in wages. Or almost getting stuck with Higuain permanently.

            Not really.

Hazard and Morata alone netted 150+ million. Plus the transfer ban.

Chelsea have legitimate funds to sign players and not just the owner opening his check book.

Werner was straight forward business. No different than Pool buying Keita. Ziyech is a guy from Ajax, not that big of a signing.

Only Havertz, Chilwell, and Rice look to be big signings and even then, Chelsea are possibly being extorted for Chilwell and Rice. While Havertz is what happens when you try to buy the Neymar's of the world.

I always hear about the transfer ban and the Hazard money but in reality you still signed Pulisic and Kovacic permanently during this time for around 100m so that negates the Hazard money.

Fair enough Morata was sold but all of the other signings far outweighs what will be received from that sale.

Pulisic was before the before the verdict. Kovacic was truly bought with a ban though.

In all fairness Werner and Ziyech are pretty legit signings.

Chilwell and Havertz seem extortionate fees though.

But if Chelsea don't sign Havertz, he'll just be at Bayern Munich for free in one season. So, it's charity for Leverkusen really.

The way FFP works or did work. It's dead now. City killed it.

But you get all your money from selling someone in one hit even though in reality that is gonna be ammortised over the course of contract.

The players you buy just include the amortised part of the transfer fee for that year.

So it's mad really. In theory it is all Hazard and Morata money we are spending on everybody.

Kova and Pulisic are just paid by standard turnover and yeah we pay for them every year like all our players.

The whole thing never made much sense.

Nobody pays up front and everything is spread over contract. Hence the bonkers fee for Kepa because its split over 7 years.

So in reality he costs Chelsea £18 odd mill a year including wages. With his actual value being £50 odd mill now because of the 2 years Chelsea have made transfer payments to Bilbao.

Kepa is legit the worst signing anyone has ever made. He is literally unsellable and probably unloanable.

So I keep seeing that Messi wants to play for Manchester City?

Are they are good club? Why does he want to go there?

They have won the premier league 4 times in recent years and are bankrolled by by a Sheikh. They are one of the dominant teams in England over the last decade.

Historically they weren't that successful. They won a lesser European Trophy in the 70's and some domestic cups.

They have had some real declines over the years found themselves in Englands third tier league at one point in the not so distant past. They have always been well supported in Manchester but it wasnt until 2008 when the Sheikh came in that they became a leading light in the English game because he bought them great players and restructured the club. Now they are a team all football fans across the world will know.

However, they have not won the Champions league or made a final because of this I dont know how highly regarded they are in the game as a whole.

They are very powerful off the pitch. It is an open secret that they cook the books and basically cheat. In European football rules exist to stop teams from financial doping if they have a sugar daddy and they must spend more or less what they earn through revenue. City direct funds through strange routes with inflated sponsorships that are really bankrolled by the owner. Emails exist that show this and common sense says they do.

When fined by UEFA and banned from European competition they just took them to the Court of Arbitration for Sport and got the ruling overturned for reasons nobody really understands.

They are managed by Guardiola and have a strong Barcelona connection at board level too.

So they can afford him and Messi will know powerful figures at the club very well.

Realistically it is the only place Messi could go along with PSG due to his cost and the fact he's pretty old so there is no real return on investment.

In summary, they are rich and successful but with more to come. They arent that well liked but nobody really hates them outside of Man U.

That's how I view them anyway.

I'd be stunned if Messi went anywhere and feel he is just posturing
