Crap tactics by Tuchel, but otherwise, Munich were simply the etter team.
Neymar & Mbappe wasted their opportunities, and the ball went through an old Di Maria too often.

The contrast between Paredes 1st half and 2md half was wild.
Also the PSG right back. Although to be fair Bayerns left side is just so strong with the Canadian kid who seems like he doesn't have any lungs.
He's like a kid you play at underage level who can basically sprint the whole match up until he finally he discovers women and alcohol and kebabs. In the end you take up a defensive position about 10 yards from your goal line

Glad to see PSG lost as usual.. honestly them winning the CL would make me feel sick.. Same as City.. I don't consider them proper clubs..

I expect them to win it again next season.

Originally posted by F l i c k e r View PostThe thing with discussing Messi though, is that millions of people have invested so much emotion into him that anything other than, Messi is a god, is met with stiff resistance.
Looking back on it, Messi probably hasn't been a piece to the puzzle since Iniesta and Xavi.
He's more like how Hazard was at Chelsea since those two left/retired. Even more so now than any time before.
Has a free role to do whatever. Everyone else has to do x, and if Messi is in position, give it to him, no questions asked and stand by.
Probably why Neymar wanted to leave so badly and Dembele has been put in the shed.
For me, even at 33, I'd like to see him go somewhere else. Because as is, I think an objective argument can be made for Messi's ability to elevate his team and it not just be favorable club, favorable league.
Because the only other sample of Messi we get to see is with Argentina and with Argentina, he can't even beat Chile and Peru ffs. Argentina haven't won south american cup since 1993 mind you. Yet have talent that would put many European nations to shame.
Even guys who matches/arguably surpassed them in talent like Ronaldhino/Ronaldo burnt out so quickly.. i just can't compare anyone in my life time.. Maybe Zidane? who was always clutch in big games
Also as for the Argies they always seem to have ridiculous players its crazy especially going forward but even defensively. Kind of amazes me the type of fowards they churn out.. Batistuta, Crespo, Higuain, Aguero + tons more

Italy and France are really the only leagues that extend careers a bit. Zlatan is proving that.
Imagine Messi joined Napoli though. Now that would be something.

Kehrer is a natural CB but can play anywhere in defense he's best at CB though.
Was quite gutting seeing all the players we've produced and lost in the final Neuer, Kehrer, Goretzka, Moting, Draxler (Could have been Sane also).

Think they badly need a new goalkeeper mind but they've made some great signings. Havertz is the truth. I expected him to end up at Bayern actually
But it is nice to have supporters of the other clubs spooked again. There is no doubt Chelsea have dropped off because we stopped buying world class players. We are in a position now where we are only looking for first teamers and can augment the squad and first team with academy players. Conte was a great manager but he bought so many squad players that is put us in a bad spot.
Also Lampard has been driving the signing this time rather than characteristics being churned through some sort of algorithm and spitting out Kepa, a legacy of Sarriball.
We will see though. I dont think its possible for Chelsea to win the league straight away but the expectation has to be that we challenge. Making up 30 odd more points?
I'm excited but I think we could still finish 3rd or 4th.
