Expected Atletico Madrid to win but I thought it end 0-0 or 1-1 at worse. Never thought Atleti had it in them to come back like that. Swear moments in that game felt like it was 90% possession for Liverpool. Altleti couldn’t put 5 passes together.

Five? More like two. In what was a half an hour.
Felt like I was watching Spain vs. Russia (except Liverpool actually attacked)

It is true what Klopp said.

How does Simeone get players to play that way? Just pure pure s hithousery. It is not really football it's the stuff that is necessary and lives in the grey areas.

              The Bhop of football.

Always said if you get good players to defend they defend better than the crap sides that do it week in and week out. A fairly poor Chelsea won the CL doing the same.

They do deserve a European Cup but they are horrible. You wouldn't really want them having any sustained success if they were anywhere but Spain considering their two rivals.

I don't think Simeone's stock is actually high in the game because of his style. He could have won Man United a league title but would it really be Man United.

The only team that swallow that s.hit traditionally would be Chelsea or now Spurs (who realise they've done everything backwards)

But Simeone would be catastrophic now. Spend £150 million on Sancho and make him a sort of cover right back

Simeone is now a bad coach. Amazing hot takes in this thread.

He has been a Top Five coach for the past decade.

He's not a bad coach. He IS one of the best.

                  But substance over style.

Only clubs that are desperate for success will swallow that.

By and large English clubs are too arrogant and pompous. Italian clubs are part of that school that will love him.

Even West Ham have a West Ham way which is somehow indicative of some sort of history of champagne football they've never played.

                  Simeone is unashamedly horrible.

We have a phrase over here. Even **** Turpin wore a mask.

**** Turpin was an ugly man that used to stick up carriages and rob them. But mercifully he wore a mask. People joked he wore it because he was so ugly and not to protect his identity.

So the phrase basically means if you do something ugly you should at least try and hide it. Like Mourinho does behind a lot of superficial charm.

There certainly would have been a time I'd have loved Simeone grabbing his nut sack in front of the Kop after a Chelsea win, lol

Great manager but it’s fair to point out his style is horrible on the eyes. The way he limits exciting players like Joao Felix is criminal.

Good points by both of you. I've had times where I've almost chucked a brick thru my screen watching his tactics. As a matter of fact, I left for five minutes after Liverpool equalized it. Couldn't handle a repeat of the SAME thing every year, I.e. them blowing a one-goal lead late
