    I take whales and some species of birds over humans.

    But I agree with Welter that the thread is misleading, insofar as it implies we are not animals.

              But if i didn't say that, there would have been a same statement made by someone who thinks otherwise.

                      Animals (including humans of course) are all pretty vicious and selfish in general. When wolves bring down a moose or caribou, they don't worry about mercifully killing it, they just start ripping it's intestines out once it's been incapacitated. There is no sense of honor or mercy.

                      Spiders pretty much tie up and slowly eat their prey alive. Imagine being tightly bound and then having a toxin that dissolves your insides into soup being injected into you while you slowly die.

                      Look at the ordinary household cat. They torture mice, kill them, and then just leave the body when the thrill is gone. We're talking about an organism that casually takes lives and doles out excruciating pain for the hell of it. Nothing nice about that.

                      I love nonhuman animals as much as anyone, but I know enough about them to realize that they are pretty ****ed up by my standards.
