Alan Wake Metacritic score 84!

Planning on renting it in the morning.

Seems it's coming out in the UK a few days before the US. Usually it's the other way round.

I'm going to pass on this one until the price drops and buy Red Dead Redemption instead I think.

Played it for about an hour and a half just now, completed episode one, very impressed so far.

Great atmosphere, interesting storyline, and some really nice little touches. For example I'm a big fan of The Twilight Zone, and at one point you see a TV, and when you switch it on you can stand there and watch a short episode of a TV show that is obviously a homage to TTZ.

Although you can see certain influences/similarities with other games, it feels fresh and fairly original. Looking forward to finishing it over the next few days.

Sound seems OK, although maybe I just have it up loud anyway.

I just started episode 3. I have to follow some guy, but he's slow as fuck and walks with a limp.

I keep not paying attention to the cut scenes though. I know it's important to the story but I get bored just sitting there doing nothing even for 20 seconds. The guy just told some story but I wasn't really listening, it was probably a key plot point as well

Got it today. Have been playing for like an hour it looks great. Anyone noticed the in-game commercials ? The constant Energizer commercials on the flashlight, batteries and signs are hard to miss... A little too much.

i noticed when the doors are locked it sounds the same in a Max Payne game. and it also has his voice in it too
