How does GGG generate so much power?

I've analysed the guys technique and sure, he is technically sound. But I have seen him throw hard shots that seem to lack speed or snap. How does he generate so much power in shots that seem to have little acceleration? I even seen him throw left hooks, practically as an arm punches with hardly any rotation or pivot, but it carries thudding power. Other than by natural strength, how does he generate so much power?

That final snap of turning your fist over before impact I'd guess.

His balance, he's seldom off center. Even when he's coming forward or throwing combinations he still maintains proper alignment, which eases his ability to rotate and torque his body into the shot with such minimal movement.

As far as snap goes, in order to generate snap the arm has to be loose and then tense before, or upon contact (depending on who you ask). He tightens his arms much much sooner than most fighters.

Must be the Aries thing too, hahahaha.

In that case, should you always tighten up earlier in order to throw a harder shot?

His arm angle from shoulder to elbow to fist remains strong and correct technique wise.
He does try to maintain balance for added power.
He does try to add shoulder, hips turning for additional pop.
He does pronate alot even on chopping punches.
He tries hard to punch through his target.
He also "sinks" his body shots in deep and works kidney, liver and floating rib.
He "thinks" he can hurt you too!

He's a good puncher, not a great one except in todays current era he is considered one.

when did you see him hurt somebody with an arm punch?

there doens't have to be a drastic motion in the legs to generate power. all you have to do is shift your weight at the proper time [to accellerate through your target] to make a punch "not an arm punch."

golovkin has been throwing punches and combinations since he was a boy. that's muscle memory that you cannot turn off. the shifting of the weight [starting with your feet, and using your hips to generate power,] is completely natural at this point. he does not have to think about it.

No. Different things work for different people. There's different ways of generating power. Ie Golovkin hits more like a semi, whereas a right hand from Hearns is like a Ferrari hitting you at top speed.

              Acceleration.

he's a great puncher by any standards. power is power. when you are hurting durable guys you don't hit flush on the chin, or who partially block your shots, you have legitimate power.

he doesn't have the athleticism that a lot of the great punchers at or around middleweight have possessed [robinson, hearns, jackson, mcclellan,] but he's still extremely heavy handed.

Out of curiosity, why isn't he a 'great' puncher? And what would make him one?
