randomness is cool but i dont need to do it for a specified time i can just mix up my routine as long as you still working the same muscles there are millions of ways to work them im sure that i could do a diffrent exercises every day for a year and still work my abs every day. i can still do random things i dont need to do them constricting to a certain time limit and i shouldn't try to convert them into endurance exercises unless they are the same as things i will be doing in the ring. sparring with some one for 5 mins is not the same as doing 1 min of running 1 min of push ups 1 min of pull ups 1 min of tossing a bag around and 1 min of pushing a tire. going all out on the bag for 5 min is not the same as the 1 min 1 min 1min....., sprinting for 5 mins is not the same as the 1 min 1 min 1 min 1 min......., wrestling for 5 mins is not the same its just not the same and if your trying to train for stamina and endurace you should be replicating the activity as well as the effect on the heart not just the times and the effects on the muscles.

just saying endurance would be better achived in situations that stress the heart more and not just the muscles as well as lifting weights or doing calistentics would have a better effect on the muscle if i did 3 sets of 1rm 3 sets of 20 at 40-60% 1rm then another 3 sets of 1rm instead of as many as i can do in a min.

now, you aren't totally wrong, because some people are fairly heavy but have lots of stamina, BUT, they will always have more stamina if they were lighter. (given they aren't weakening themselves to become lighter).

Ali had good stamina when he fought Frazier at 215 lbs.

however, he had even better stamina at 209.
I also forgot to add that overall strength is more important in MMA due to ground fighting, the need to control people, move people, etc.

It does, but nobody needs to be as big as Sherk or Lesnar to wrestle. (Although Lesnar seems to be shrinking rapidly). The best Olympic wrestlers are very strong but have decent enough stamina because a lot of the muscle fits on their frame nicely. If they ate 7000 calories and lifted weights all day, then they might have a problem. I guess thats why people born with a lot of muscle are usually beasts.

However much stronger you are vs the other person in the SAME weight class will determine how much easier it is to control them. But I don't get what you're trying to say? Olympic wrestlers lift, most wrestlers lift, trying to get as strong as possible for their respective weight division. As long as you don't get so much muscle mass that it negatively affects you, it should be fine. Also size/=/strength. I personally lift for strength in mind, I don't care about getting big.

            Size doesn't = strength

Why aren't body builders strongmen then? It's usually just fat guys or big boned people.

The slashes combined with the equals sign were meant to act as does not. Since I can't slash an equals symbol through the middle like your supposed to.
