    How do you get rid of your nerves before a fight?

    I have a really really good fighter in my gym. He was more than ready for his first fight. He was doing GREAT in sparring and in great shape. BUT this past weekend right before he went in the ring HE FREAKED OUT! He's normally very fast and tight defensively but it looked like he was fighting under water! Seemed like his adrenaline shot before the fight and it exhausted him. Needless to say he lost a fight he could've easily won.

    Anyways, what are some things you do to calm your nerves before a fight?

    You glove up, loosen up and then just go do it.

    Those nerves may actually be what keeps you sharp in there...........Rockin'

      Like James Toney has said the most important thing is to keep calm so you can think and react during a fight. Ashwagahnda is the best calming supplement. Short term it can be a negative as it takes the edge off but long term it is an adaptogen your body will adapt to stress. Rhodiola may help though I use it for physical and mental endurance more than stress control. Zinc picolinate. Brain supps may help TUDCA, deserticola, lithium orotate. That is assuming the person is getting all the nutrients, not eating poison food, personalized diet, good water, no emf frying the brain 24/7 etc etc.

        Do any of those set off a drug test?

              It took me two ass whoopings to get comfortable in the ring, went on a 9 winning streak and got my revenge.

              I too boxed good in sparrings and all but choked in the spotlight and lost to although good boxers, i was better than them.

                The best way to deal with pre fight nerves is to get back in there quickly and compete as often as possible. The adrenaline drop before a fight just can't be replicated in the gym and needs to be learned to be harnessed. Sparring different people from other gyms at their gyms is definitely helpful.

                    those are very basic herbs and supps I wouldn't think so. use a good brand to decrease likelihood of contamination/spiking. barlowes, pure, weyland, open world.
