I have never gone to a gym to box as I don't do it as a profession, I'm just a fan. Lately though, I have been reading the kinds of routines that people are doing and I do that shizz at home. I thought I was kinda in shape, butafter I picked up on the cardio and started shadowboxing and stuff...man.
I think I have lost almost 5 lbs of fat in the last 2 weeks or so and my ability to recover after a cardio exercise is getting better each time. I jog 3 miles 3 times a week and shadowbox 12 full rds after running- practicing different combos for each rd (I'm a novice so I focus on fundamentals). I also have my own gloves and heavy bag, bag mits, and home gym. I started at doing one minute on and one minute off with the jumprope for 20 minutes, but now I'm up to 2 on and 1 off for 30 minutes; pretty soon I'll be doing full rds.
Not like this has anything to do with the thread but I get training for free. It sounds like going to a pro gym is kinda cheap though I might check into it when I graduate but there is no gym here where I'm at now.
