But i Would Have rather Seen him die in that ring with pride having tried even if he couldnt win then on his knees i was an avid fan of morales and the fact that today i must admit i am more proud of barrera pains me cause i know that at least he would of gone out like a true mexican even if he would lose so i say again for those that doubt me **** off being mexican isnt about winnning or losing its bout not giving up.
bro, IMO he showed how smart he was... a smart mexican... not like "some" of his freak fans who just don't know how to quit and blame all things, maybe even their personal dilemnas, to pacquiao... you know yourselves...

Yes, he is, don't you recall the last time he fought, "I want to fight pacquioa thats the fight i've wanted for some time now."

Ready it, study it and recognize kid.

lolololol. you are just plain dumb... what difference would it make if he stood up for the third time?!? he'll just get clobbered... hell!!! it's sad really to see dumb fans like you, lose respect to warriors like Morales just because the man just know when he's had enough... and oh, that pride ****... it ain't worth it for Erik if he gets carried out in a stretcher... the man has done so much for the sport to deserve such an ending (dying in the ring like you suggested moron...)

oh, and you are not Mexican, please don't disgrace Mexico by calling yourself Mexican.

im done arguing with u guys i honestly could care less what u think of me. quitting is never the way to go a great boxer adapts he couldnt plain and simple he didnt know how to so he quit. look at his eyes thats just a man who saw something difficult and said i cant do this instead of saying ill get back up and keep trying that is sad u can agree with me if ud like and if u dont thats on u im done.

                      to put into perspective,

Arguello quit against Pryor the second time, he could have gotten up but chose not to.
Vargas went out on his sheild vs Trinidad he got up everytime until he was stopped
Freitas quit against COrrales, he could have kept fighting bbut chose not to.
Corrales went out on his sheild in all his ko losses, he either was UNABLE to get up or the ref stopped it.

I would say Vargas was able to "go out on his sheild" because he was younger and took less punishment prior.

The wear and tear of boxing ages you. The longer you are in it, at some point when you are near your breaking point, fighting in a war, your mind will be a little more accepting of calling it a day.

It is funny to see how the majority are protecting Morales for his loss, but when it was Kostya Tszyu, people ripped him to shreds.

Lets take the two of them:

Morales: 29, but is older because of the wars

Kostya: 35 (at the time of Hatton fight), but went through 2 surgeries from injuries and had been inactive for a few years.

Morales: struggled to make weight...a crucial point since if you don't feel healthy going into a fight, it plays with your mind. This is a very underrated topic we don't really talk about: the effects of how the mind works while having to fight drained.

Kostya: struggled to make 140, just not as bad as Morales had to, but in a fight against a young pressure fighter (which both had to do), it is a *****.

Morales: went into the third before ending it

Kostya: went 11 rounds, while breathing through his mouth in about the 5th round...had to take many punches with his mouth open and near exhaustion.
In one of the rounds, he took a shot to the Testicles that basically finished him off, and would of most likely finished anybody off.
