Manny Pacquiao will be good for GBP and vice versa.
At the rate 2004 went for Manny, except for the JMM fight,
he should be looking into linking up with the bigtime promoters. I say
Pac + GBP = MONEY & BIGTIME FIGHTS.

I don't think it would be a good idea because every fighter that joins GBP seems to lose their next fight. Consider the following:


- MAB lost (big time) to Pac in his first GBP fight
- Juan Carlos Rubio gets KOd in his first fight under GBP
- Juan Valenzuela sustains an injury before being able to fight for the first time under GBP
- Fernando Montiel lost his first fight (against Mark Johnson by MD) in his first fight under GBP
- Javier Jauregui loses his second fight under GBP to Julio Diaz by MD.

I'm sure there are more, and Baya can back me up on these. Seems to me that GBP is cursed. I hate to see fighters sign there and then get hexed.

Don King, Arum , Murad...they're all birds of the same feather. GBP is worth a try. Although, it's GBP that needs Pacman, more than Pacman needs GBP.

That would have to be a big YES. Until one of them goes a different route. No way will GBP pit its own fighters against each other.

The beauty of being with Golden boy is like someone said a bit earlier, Oscar is not afraid to let his fighters fight whoever they need to fight to elevate themselves-even if it is a huge risk. HE is not worried about one of his cash cows losing-he understands thats the nature of the beast...other promoters give us big fights too but usually they are a few years after they should have taken place because the Arums/Kings of the world are mismatching their repsective guys so they can get as much money out of them as possible before it is cross your fingers time against the big time.

Look at MAB...on top of the world a top 5 p4per and he signs with OScar and goes right after Manny...All the while what was Bob Arum doing with Erik Morales-they were putting on payperviews against Guty Espada and Carlos Hernandez.

Oscar can afford to do this-he maybe the richest promoter in the game and he has been at this for a few years....the money was quite apparent in the recent Hopkins purse bid where Oscar bid over 4 million for the fight and neither Don King or Bob Arum went over 1.8 million...as I said in an earlier post...this purse bid represents a changing of the guard...it is a slow process but I can't see how this process is going to be stoppped.

good money is good, where's that phone number of Oscar better give it quickly to the PACMAN...

in another thread its was mentioned that the PAC-JMM did not reach the ratings expectation by HBO...

i think with Golden Boy Promotions and with Oscar's name recognition, PAC can be one day be household name in the US, the only thing his has to do is win fights...
