I am hoping Alexander Povetkin becomes the first bridgerweight champ. He deserves the shot. The quintessential heavyweight, not a super heavy weight nor a cruiserweight, simply a solid heavyweight in a modern era of giants.

Let's see how long this division will last...all respect in the world for a 6 y.o., but the name is utterly ludicrous. What if his name was Mohammed?

Haha. No doubt and they ask the employee to kick back 10% of their salary as a sanctioning fee.

I suspect Suliaman gives a crap about a six-year-old and a dog. It's a disguise for introducing yet another division which is alarming because diluting the HW division will take away much of the excitement and explosive tension that accompanies an HW fight.

Just when I think they've reached a boundary...

I think HW should be 200 - 245 lbs. The new division should be Super-Heavyweight 246 - 310. Fighters over 310 could get a signed waiver from their opponent to compete at those higher weights.

I'm sure the idea won't be popular, but it's a good idea for safety of the fighters. We've needed a Super-Heavy division for a while now. Guys 270 lbs shouldn't be fighting guys 215 lbs generally. Anymore than guys weighng 180 lbs shouldn't be fighting welterweights ...
