I just want to know where exactly did people get the idea that Lopez didn't have a boxing IQ? I've never seen him throw wide punches or make bad moves in fights. And his punches landed in fights was not low, he had a high accuracy.

That said, Loma still won the fight.
When he decided to get going, he hurt Teo several times and I couldn't really see a time he hurt Loma other than the borderline low blow.
Loma won rds 2, 5, 7-11 and possibly 12. If you say Lopez won 12 then I say okay, but that's still a 7-5 win for Loma.
He started way too late and it cost him but it was in his best interest. Lopez is extremely twitchy and powerful early and carried it deep into the fight.
I get that this is against the basic hater scorecards on here and I get it, its fun to see Loma fail and all, but look at this a little closer. Loma won 1 round on one of the cards! One!
That should tell you something. He had Lopez almost out on his feet in more than one round. Ffs! Not even the biggest hater on here only gave him one round!
Boxing is corrupt af
On a side note, that's exactly what we as boxing fans needed!
Bad @ss fight!
Peace out.

The fact that he hurt Loma put a stamp on his performance and seemed to leave Loma realizing he lost. But it was a damn close round. On my scorecared I still had it 115-114 Loma. Although I made one round a draw that I acknowledge others might not agree with.

I can’t believe people thought loma won, yes that one scorecard was bad but the right man won.

Many rounds were largely uneventful.
Clearly you haven't Boxed.
Yes, Lomachenko waited too long to step on the gas. He was waiting for the perfect pitch to knock the ball out of the park. But when he actually turned it on he took over the fight.
That proves he was trying to entice Lopez to open up early. Lopez didn't do much offensively. More than Loma, yes, but he was basically being invited to unload. The real victory of those early rounds was Lopez's composure. Sure, he tagged Lomachenko hard to the body and backed him up, and he kept Lomachenko from establishing the angles he is used to asserting. I can agree with all of that. But those early rounds were uneventful because Lomachenko was trying to set traps.
Lopez stepped up. Don't get me wrong. But outside the 12th, when Loma decided to fight he CLEARLY won. It's the fact that he waited until halfway through the bout to begin fighting that really cost him his championship.

Lederman and Byrd should like go live out the rest of their days in an idyllic seaside cottage and sip hot herbal teas and be ricotta cheese power lesbians and never again score another pro fight between them, that'd be cute imo

111-119 tho? Really? Boxing is rigged
You didn't even watch the fight, did you?
This thread is seperating the real boxing fans from the fakes...separating the real boxing fans from those that are just here to push their agenda.

Lomachenko more convincingly won the rounds he racked up than Lopez won the rounds he racked up. The rounds lopez won were close because Lomachenko was trying to bait him into making mistakes. It is to Lopez's credit that he didn't take the bait, but he is such an unknown commodity that you can't blame Loma for miscalibrating the kid's composure.
Besides that, Loma IS the more skillful fighter. He blundered early in the fight, but when he took the fight to Lopez he won. The smaller man was beating up the bigger man in a fist fight.
Only a ***** scores against that.

I thought Lomachenko would win in 12 I congratulate Lopez he's not like the other Primadonnas fighting bums. I want to congratulate Lomachenko for not pulling any Mayweather crap like asking for a 133 pound catch weight when the younger guy is bigger and stronger
