Executives aren’t rookies. In all markets there are annual losses / quarterly losses... it happens. Add Covid market hits... at the end of the day, they’re consulted for Canelo’s value and ability. Canelo has about 4 years left give or take. That’s a lot of time for business growth, and DAZN global will eventually have to show results. GBp and Canelo’s legal will also see the yearly closings and revenue from DAZN next year and that’s where evaluation, theory, past and post will come into play.

I feel DAZN is a good brand. The initial phase for DAZN USA wasn’t great. Ok... consulting is everything. They get advice as to why or how ESPN and PBC do their side of the business and what they expect for returns. Of DAZN truly wants to push boxing, especially stateside, then the next big product is Ryan Garcia. That kid neeeds to stay sharp, super disciplined and keep learning the game 100%. He’ll be next boxing superstar imo. But he has to stay focusedand sharp full stop. That’s what DAZN needs and are expecting.

GBP is still the biggest asset for DAZN USA.

Out of curiosity, do you know if that is part of Canelo's contract (portion of the gate revenue)?

I ask because, I've only seen that Oscar signed a contract with Canelo to pay him $35 million per fight but I haven't actually seen details of the contract language.

Is DAZN's deal with Oscar that they pay him $40 million for only the right to stream the fights? Is their revenue only based on subscriptions?

The lack of a live gate certainly impacts someone's revenue but I'm not certain who that is.

It has been reported from several sources, including statements, made by Oscar prior to the lawsuit, that because of the Pandemic Canelo is losing out on revenues from live gate, sponsorships and merchandizing. I assume that Golden Boy gets the lion's share of these revenues because Golden Boy has to pay for Canelo's opponent from the money received from DAZN. Since Canelo gets $35 million from the $40 million, GB has been relying on these ancillary revenues to pay the opponent, promote the fight and earn a profit.

DAZN revenue is based on subscriptions. I don't know if DAZN receives those revenues, but it could be very well that GB alone or GB and Canelo receive that. As near as I can tell from what has been reported here and abroad is that the DAZN business model in Boxing, Soccer and other the other sports they stream around the world is primarily based on subscriptions.

Without a live gate, Golden Boy doesn't have alot of margin to pay an opponent, promote a fight and make a profit.

Canelo can't go anywhere and make shyt, his fights don't pay nearly what DAZN gives him. For the record, Canelo doesn't even speak English and still Oscar was able to make him a super star and make him Ring Mag #1 P4P. Canelo isn't as ****** as some in here and for that reason he'll stay and renegotiate.

Canelo can CERTAINLY make that 20 million fighting on ANY OF THE OTHER BIG PLATFORMS.....any of them....if you think he can't make that money at top rank or PBC then you're simply an idiot. Canelo should leave DAZN...bottom line....they are moving the goalposts and who's to say they won't attempt it again.....cut ties and leave....DAZN doesn't know what the f@$# they're doing. They just let Demetrius Andrade sit on that wbo belt fighting bums when everyone knows Andrade is not a star....they have no clue who to push

I wonder if Canelo's lawyers purposely filed the first time with the intent of getting it thrown out. This way Canelo could show GBP and DAZN that he wants to take more control of his career or be taken seriously. Come Tuesday we will know more of what is really going on and what the outcome will be.

In the end the fans are the ones that get the short end of the stick. Canelo is still rich and will remain rich regardless. Oscar and his company will still be douches and DAZN will still find a way to keep boxing on a streaming platform for the future. The fans sit around waiting for fights to watch.

I disagree.....DAZN is not going to be around much longer without Canelo....it would behoove them to make him happy...or they will be the big losers....just watch

You are correct. However their investment to break into the US market has been a complete failure with less than one million subs that decreases monthly through ebbs and flows. Their multi million dollar Boxing deals have also proven miserable failures hence the frantic shuffling of executives within the company. No company will continue to offset their books long term diving into their profits in order to keep a sport afloat (boxing) based on bad deals. They allowed their hubris to rule their business decisions in order to attract boxing fans. Their sub rates in order to pay lucrative contracts is far short of ever breaking boxing even.

Trust me they’ll either drop elite boxers or attempt to redraw contracts and boxers will leave.
