I don't think they should've fired him...instead have the conversation during the Broadcast. They wanted to him Apologize and he refused so it is not like they wasn't given the opportunity to clear things up. Instead I think they could've had him with Brian Custer and some current fighters to discuss what he said and everything would've been cool.

Paulie may have acted emotional with his comment, I guess because some Wilder fans been trashing him and labeling him Racist or whatever since the damn 1st Fury fight (which I thought he did nothing wrong by the way) that he jumped out and made that comment probably as some sort of get back. As well as an emotional reaction to what Devin Haney said which was also a ****** comment and Haney apologize for it at least.

The issue is that is shows BIAS, it shows and confirms a Bias a lot of Wilder Fans was crying about while he was calling Wilder vs Fury I. I don't think you should hold certain positions particularly a Boxing Analyst if you're already coming in with a Bias towards certain fighter regardless if it is their fighting style or Race/Nationality/Ethnicity/Religion etc....

This Bias was the downfall of HBO IMO. I remember Boxing Hall Of Famer's Steve Farhood and Al Bernstein talking about how they don't pick fights which really does make a lot of sense and maybe they should've passed that along to Paulie. Certain Topics you stay away from!

Now if you some guy on Boxing Scene, then yeah you can say and post whatever you want.

No One Race/Nationality is dominating boxing, the sport is as diverse as it has ever been right now and that is a Great Thing! You have British Champions, American Champions, Eastern European Champions, Mexican Champions, Asian Champions...

So it was a ignorant comment from someone who is suppose to be a Boxing Analyst

He made false statements without proof. I'd say he is for Eastern Europeans, not racist to them.

it's utter BS if you ask me. Whatever you do outside of the workplace is your own business. As long as he didn't do anything illegal, which he didn't remotely come close to, I see no reason for showtime to try to play God and fire their best boxing analyst to prove a point. I think they just couldn't pay him anymore since they haven't put on big fights for almost 2 years now and the Mayweather well has dried up by now so they're cutting costs which is ok, but don't ruin the guy's reputation and label him something that he isn't, it's not your job.

False statements without proof is a justifiable reason for dismissal?

So who was he being racist towards then with that statement?

I understand Paulie’s sentiment that classism is a bigger problem than racism but to say that systematic racism doesn’t exist shows his profound ignorance and further confirms the fish bowl mentality some people of the other ethnicities have of views on melanin people in general!

Haney said something that wasn’t even remotely close to racist but ignorant yet he still apologized and Paulie refused!

So not sure why people are still in their panties about him being fired, he showed ignorant racial bias plus a view of a bigot and didn’t want to apologize!

All this shows me is that I’m glad he’s gone, I wanted him gone ever since he sold out his own country for the UK!

Good riddance, now he can go to the sinking ships of DAZN and Sky sports an yack about their majority garbage fights with maybe one or two good ones!
