Wilder should take step aside money as long as he's guaranteed a shot at the winner, absolutely. Fury did something similar instead of immediately rematching Wilder after the first fight he knew he had to switch some things up before the rematch and he did and that type of strategy benefited him perfectly for the rematch.

I don't see this happening -Wilder won't step aside.
I want to know what happens if wilder wins the next Fury fight?
Then they have another rematch?
I'm guessing Wilder would fight Joshua instead then? (or whoever has the rest of the belts)

But they're gonna exercise [that contractual right] because if they're gonna get step-aside [money], they have to exercise anyway to get step-aside. They're not gonna just come in and go, "We"re thinking about it, but what have you got?" They wanna go, "Yeah. Signed" And then, "But if you wanna come talk"
This is the part I love most about the entire write up. Before Wilder could be considered for a step-aside, he would first have the third fight signed and sealed. The perfect "setup" would be if he does that while hoping to get a step-aside but doesn't get it; he goes into yet another beat down and to oblivion.

He'd refuse stand aside money as nobody wants to fight Pulev after not because he's dangerous, just because there's too many other vested interests. This is why he wants it signed and over the line.
Arum knows that Wilder has to exercise the rematch clause to even qualify for step aside money so he figures that's what will happen as Wilder will want to portray the 'Warrior image' to salvage a morsel of pride - he's still in denial.
Then I can see Arum showing no interest in paying Wilder a dime, knowing that Tyson barring a miracle will come through again unscathed.
Then providing Pulev pulls of a shock victory he stands to earn double bubble as a promoter of both Fury and Pulev and he will have FULL control, away from PBC and Hearn.
Worse case scenario Arum makes a wage off Pulev getting smashed and Fury rematch, knowing that he'll earn big time again in the Fury vs Josh fight.
Not a bad position to be in!
