Comments Thread For: Hearn: Wilder Would Step Aside For Fury-Joshua; Anything's Solvable With Money

By Keith Idec - FRISCO, Texas Deontay Wilder already has made it clear he'll exercise his contractual right for an immediate third WBC heavyweight title fight against Tyson Fury. Eddie Hearn doesn't think that necessarily nullifies the possibility of an Anthony Joshua-Fury fight taking place first, while Wilder awaits a contractually guaranteed...

If I were Wilder, I'd take the money to step aside. I mean, you're getting paid to not get punched on the head. Easy choice for me.
And Wilder don't want that Fury smoke right away.

Wilder could easily still fight Fury after AJ/Fury happens. If he tries to delay that fight to have a third fight with someone hes basically 0-2 against hes just continuing to make himself look more and more of an *******.

"So, if we had a preference, we'd do AJ-Fury in June or July of this year. Now, we don't know if Wilder even wants the [Fury] fight, or if his team wants the fight. But they're gonna exercise [that contractual right] because if they're gonna get step-aside [money], they have to exercise anyway to get step-aside. They're not gonna just come in and go, "We"re thinking about it, but what have you got?" They wanna go, "Yeah. Signed" And then, "But if you wanna come talk"

This is the part I love most about the entire write up. Before Wilder could be considered for a step-aside, he would first have the third fight signed and sealed. The perfect "setup" would be if he does that while hoping to get a step-aside but doesn't get it; he goes into yet another beat down and to oblivion.

We have Usyk and Whyte waiting on mandatory's soon.

Getting sick and tired of HEarn and Joshua not taking enough fights.

Fury can beat Wilder in late June or July and then we can start talking about Joshua paying off Usyk for a November fight. Whatever happens Whyte needs his shot by early next year as well.

Joshua not taking care of his mando's is the problem. fighting twice a year currently.

Hearn: “So, there’s two things you can do. Number one is let Joshua and Fury fight in June or July, and then Wilder fights the winner in November, December. All right? Or, fight [Fury] quickly for us in July, or something like that, and let Joshua fight the winner. Or the other one is let Joshua and Fury fight in October, and then you fight the winner in January or February. "

... Hearn also has the Pulev fight in mind...

                Exactly

Wilder may benefit by getting paid not to fight, but that doesn’t benefit his managers, advisors, broadcasters etc..

All those guys benefit from Wilder taking the rematch.

In my opinion, AJ should get Pulev out the way. Fury should whoop Wilder again and build up to a big fight at the end of the year for all the belts.

I get the impression after reading that, that Arum wants the Pulev fight signing for because he really wants a Pulev victory and believes there's a chance his man could pull off the upset, he's already said as much.

He'd refuse stand aside money as nobody wants to fight Pulev after not because he's dangerous, just because there's too many other vested interests. This is why he wants it signed and over the line.

Arum knows that Wilder has to exercise the rematch clause to even qualify for step aside money so he figures that's what will happen as Wilder will want to portray the 'Warrior image' to salvage a morsel of pride - he's still in denial.

Then I can see Arum showing no interest in paying Wilder a dime, knowing that Tyson barring a miracle will come through again unscathed.

Then providing Pulev pulls of a shock victory he stands to earn double bubble as a promoter of both Fury and Pulev and he will have FULL control, away from PBC and Hearn.

Worse case scenario Arum makes a wage off Pulev getting smashed and Fury rematch, knowing that he'll earn big time again in the Fury vs Josh fight.

Not a bad position to be in!

Hearn and his money should fix cancer or the virus. Money bags is here, Wilder out the picture.
