unlike fox and espn, you can subscribe directly to the Showtime app and watch Showtime without being a Showtime TV subscriber and without being counted in the TV ratings.

Gervonta Davis?victory over Yuriorkis Gamboa drew Showtime’s second-highest viewership for a boxing match in 2019.

Nielsen Media Research revealed Tuesday that Davis?12th-round stoppage of Gamboa attracted a peak audience of 604,000 on Saturday night from State Farm Arena in Atlanta. Davis-Gamboa, the longest fight of Davis?six-year pro career, was watched by an average audience of 577,000.

The only fight Showtime aired this year that drew higher viewership was Deontay Wilder’s first-round knockout of Dominic Breazeale on May 18. Wilder’s mandatory WBC heavyweight title defense versus Breazeale, which lasted just two minutes and 17 seconds, was watched by 886,000 viewers live on Showtime from Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

A total of 774,000 viewers watched Davis-Gamboa through various platforms. That figure includes those that tuned in live on Showtime, through On Demand for initial replays and via Showtime’s live streaming service.

Thank you for fact checking that pretentious shill. I tire of his antics.

I would assume less and less people are subscribed to showtime for boxing considering they don’t put much boxing on anymore and when they do it’s mismatches. What’s the last world title fight they had with elite guys?

Both Hurd and Garcia fought cherry picks with almost no chance to win.

            That's something completely different.

TV ratings now include the streaming numbers from TV subscribers who logged in through their TV provider.

That is totally different from the millions of people who subscribe to the Showtime app without a TV provider. Those people are not counted in the TV ratings because they don't subscribe to the TV channel. They subscribe to the app.

I'd rather not guess. It's definitely more than 10% and definitely less than 50%. 25-30% might not be a bad guess, but there's no way to know for sure.

1000%. That and the inactivity. Young guys should fight in their prime.

These numbers are not 100%. They don't count the Showtime streaming numbers. Most people I know, including myself, watch Showtime via stream.

I turned the fight off around round 5.

                    It was that bad
