Stuff many have more or less said, but I think he just had it confirmed that Kov couldn't really hurt him at this point.

I think it was just a calculated risk fight from Canelo that he knew he could at least fight him close, and go 12 rounds...and we know how close fights will go for Nelo in Vegas.
He knew, we all knew. Folks sat up here saying “I’m genuinely scared for Canelo” because folks kept pointing out Kovalev has been done for a while now. Does it change the fact Canelo knocked him the fk out? No, he did so in very impressive fashion, dive or not. People need their narrative though. Can’t just be happy with he got his win impressively..it also needs to be versus a real threat which we all know..well those objectively who have seen the losing fighter the last few years isn’t the case.

      Fucc all the haters!
Plenty of folk of all races calling it fixed..ain’t got shh to do with race..the fact you are trying to put that on blacks people is fkd up dude. Take one gander on Twitter for yourself. Personally, don’t give a fk if it was or wasn’t...Kovalev ain’t been at the top of his game for well over two years now, Canelo just got in front of him before the rest of the division could decapitate him and it was a smart business move.

I guess I still am wondering how Canelo could go up to 175 and stop a guy that Yarde couldn't, Alvarez couldn't (the second time)...meanwhile Nelo couldn't stop Jacobs or Chavez or Cotto or GGG in 2 fights...with no KDs or no real hurt moments in those fights...I just didn't think he would really be able to KO him...I am impressed with it if not a little skeptical of the 'how' it got done.

Kov has looked a little weary in his fights in the last few years, but I didn't give Canelo much hope to KO him, going up 2 weight classes...I wouldn't have thought Canelo to be any better than Yarde at 175, tbh..and before the KO I don't think he really was.

Kovalev tried his best but was handicapped by contract. The Kovalev that faced Yarde finishes the fight on his feet and probably wins on most people’s cards, though not officially.

it looks like kov was asking for nelo's permission first before throwing his light punches...

not even a shadow of his old self...

It was a cherry pick of sorts. Too old to have fights against top fighters at Kov's age. It was a cash out of sorts but he didn't just lay down. Pretty close fight.
Something that is overlooked by us fans in the 2nd Ward fight was the perfectly set up and timed right hand that Ward landed. That punch finished Kovalev and lex to the finish.
It's safe to say Canelo hits harder than Ward regardless of the weight.
The true Krusher was seen for the last time vs Alvarez.
He was battering Alvarez and getting close to a stop but got caught.
Then the switch to Mcgirt, who is a HOF trainer, began the boxing and playing it smart but too safe.
Kovalev is a seek.and destroy, high volume, thudding, accumulative KO machine by design.
Best days are behind him but he still has that power.
Canelo has always been known for that adamantium chin.
That left hand that wobbled Kovalev was sneaky but that right that ended was just a thing of pure beauty.
Canelo is a truly special talent despite some questionable decisions.
But he's not the judges and the man's style both Golovkin fights, Jacob's, and Kovalev have been fan friendly styles and he stood right in the pocket.
I don't see anybody beating him right now

Because Kovalev has little punch resistance left. The only reason Yarde didn’t stop him is from lack of experience, once the kid let his hands go for real he had him dancing with the stars and the guy is back getting punched less than 90 days later. Canelo made a great choice targeting Kovalev, the Krusher train been left the station. Kovalev needs to retire because what happened last night is going to be worse at the hands of any of the other fighters at 175 and a hell of a lot quicker. People around here accused lots of us of being haters because we told them Kovalev was washed up and done..after the first ten rounds last night I’d like someone to argue that we were wrong. Dude wouldn’t through a punch with conviction for shh.
