If George had rematched immediately, Ali would whoop him again.

If George had rematched Ali in 3 years, he would've won! But that's only because Ali started to suffer from Parkinson's at that age. That's why he lost to Spinks. But there's no way George could've predicted that back in 1974.

I've a feeling AJ was coddled as a child. And, Ruiz probably took ass beatings from his parents. Kids who never get beat grow up soft like AJ and look confused AF when they get beat up.
Look at Ruiz. Dude got right back up and went to work. You know he got his ass whooped as a kid. Probably had some chonklas thrown at him too.

George got a point. Don't know where in a boxing book where you have to avenge your loses to be able to move on. Let Ruiz enjoy his half year of fame. He'll eventually be clipped by any decent heavyweight, anyways.

Forget the belts. They didn't even motivate Wilder to go for them when a shot was offered to him.

People are saying give Ruiz credit but how can you do that when he hasn't proved himself and also if Joshua can beat roid kings like Alex P then he should have breezed through Ruiz.alex p is way better

Povetkin is old and got knocked ****** by the same punch Ruiz treated with disdain. You guys are really underestimating the value of good basic fundamentals and a granite chin.

There are plenty of heavyweights out there better than the likes of Brezeale and Martin who will fancy their chances with Joshua.
This. Something I don't understand in hw boxing is why it is so 'difficult' for some prospects to get good fights. Some of them would already be worth a title shot, instead we go on and see the usual ones who already got floored...

Do not get me wrong, I am NOT a Joshua fan; but, his win over Wlad proves that he has at least some boxing fundamentals. No matter how old Wlad was.

A lot of things said in this thread femind me of things said about wladimir klitschko. I believe that AJ suffered from flaws in his game that caught up to him.

Wlad did not go for rematches right away and look at his career. People questioned wlads chin, heart, and stamina in every fight after brewster. I dont believe that aj will win back the belts and dominate but i dont see why he cant win a belt again
