Because he isn't painted into a corner to fight anybody. No matter who he fights he's brining in subscribers. He's carrying the company

So this is either a bull**** excuse to duck, or it's ridiculous. This truly is the diva, scaredycat era of boxing.
That shit from Canelo fanboys/GGG haters is beyond retarded!

If one fighter doesn't like another, and is being offered a fortune to fight him, there can be only one reason for him turning the offer down.

This is the kind of stuff that ticks Canelo off. He doesn't want to be FORCED to fight anyone just because the network or the executives want it to happen. And he has plenty of leverage knowing he's the only one bringing in subscribers. According to Evan Rutkowski, not only did DAZN expect the third fight between Canelo/GGG to happen this year but they were hoping maybe they could even have a fourth fight. Looks like more than anything they are upset they gave GGG the type of contract they did if they can't get the trilogy fight with Canelo.

14.5M to fight Rolls is more impressive than Fury getting 12M or so to fight Schwarz. Props to GGG for getting that type of deal before calling it quits.

If not Canelo next, then who? Looks like Andrade is too much of a risk as long as the trilogy fight is make able. So who then?

No one but Mexican fans and hardcore racist boxing fans who hate GGG like Canelo, everyone else remembers him ducking the prime version of GGG, and ruining a great matchup, to instead give the fans a past its sell by date, half-cooked version of the same fight years later, or, they don't follow boxing anyway.

It seems like everything wrong with boxing is coming to a head here, and DAZN is ground zero. They made their bed signing this hypejob, now they're stuck with him.
I could not agree more on two points....firstly, Canelo fans are fans of his nationality, nothing else. If he wasn’t from Mexico they wouldn’t care. It’s another case of nationalism and bigotry in boxing with the hardcore Canelo fans who only watch boxing when it’s him or someone else from Mexico. They ARE NOT boxing fans, they are nationalist sycophants. Secondly, this is the problem with the dazn model.....you guarantee 8 figure paydays for fights no one but those nationalist sycophants want to see. If you can make $15-$30m fighting the Steve rolls and rocky fieldings of the boxing world where is the incentive in fighting real opposition? And people criticised al haymon for paying fighters $2m on the time buy version of PBC circa 2015-2018.
And the most interesting part of this is you’re right, dazn has made its bed and it will lie in it as long as it is paying these guys 5-10 times more than they should be paid. $30m+ for Daniel Jacobs? That is absolutely insane.
Does anyone actually see dazn sustaining this business model? Even a billionaire will eventually get tired of throwing away his money with no return on his investment. Dazn our all it’s money behind the Mexican American fan base in the USA with Canelo and golovkin......what happens when they lose that Mexican American subscriber fan base? If that happens, dazn in the USA will be donezone

We are seeing the weakness of a strategy ignored a business model that is based on heavily overpaying fighters

How is difficult to justify the Canelo deal when he signed with DAZN before GGG? Whether GGG came to DAZN or not that was Canelo's deal with or without GGG so there is justification for the deal.
If John Skipper didn't include financial penalty clauses in Canelo and GGG's contracts, in the event of them turning down fights in their own division that DAZN wanted to make, then Skipper is not fit to be CEO of the company and should be fired.

I spoke about this very issue right after the Canelo/Jacobs fight.

You have to believe that DAZN has influence over who Canelo and GGG fight. Sure, they can understand a tune up. But this is why they invested nearly half a bil in these two. No way Golden Boy is gonna be able to call ALL the shots.
