No he wasn't. Look up the fight night weights for Canelo vs Lopez, they both came in around 165. And Trout was 171 against Canelo! 172 is a normal fight night weight for a super welterweight. Charlo, Munguia and Hurd all come in fight night at around 170-175.

No, IBF says rule doesn't apply unless both fighters agree for that rule to take place. In this case golden boy had to pay some extra to Jacobs for him to agree for it.

you're really gonna act as if Canelo wasn't the bigger man vs the former light weight Lopez?? You have proof of your info, provide the link. Everything I stated is right there on Google. What you're saying isn't. Munguia and Hurd and also very large for jmw and are also using weight to their advantage the same way Canelo did when he was in the same weight class.

From Ring ****zine: "A same-day weigh-in will be held at 8:00 a.m. the day of the May 4 fight in Las Vegas; neither fighter will be allowed to exceed 170 pounds for the fight contracted at 160 pounds." Since the fight takes place late at night. Danny will have plenty of time to rehydrate. It would have been a real challenge for him if the second-day weigh-in was an hour or two before the fight.

Thats bs. Smith wasn't even able to make weight at jmw his fight after canelo & is a big ass jmw

Canelo is literally the same height as mayweather & looked almost his size in their fight. He has rarely fought anyone not at least his size or incapable of being the bigger man by putting on muscle because they were taller.

Almost all the top fighters at jmw are & have been taller than canelo esp. your favs charlos/ggg who have to drain because of height & build/reach alone. You haters just delude yourself based on blind biased hatred..

Canelo fought lopez because Ortiz(whos giant ww)who had already signed got his jaw broken by lopez. Lopez is naturally a huge ww despite his excuses,& Canelo used to be smaller back then age 19.

Canelo is 5'8" & is considered small for a jmw let alone mw/smw,the entire top 10 p4p has fought most their careers with a height/size disparity over their opponents including hw's but canelo was the shorter sometimes more muscular man in most his fights.

now canelo and Floyd are the same size?? Ok, just stop. Canelo came into fights in the 170s when he was fighting at 154,floyd would be in the 150s. You may not know this but height isn't a factor in size or weight class. If that's your logic then Hopkins is a bigger man than Mike Tyson. Canelo was by no means small for jmw. All you have to do is look at what he looked like in the ring vs actual junior middle weights like Smith (who is still Fighting at 154) and Cotto. He's clearly the bigger man and it played a role. As far as Lopez he is not a huge welter weight by any means. And Canelo was not 19 when they fought. He was 22.
