... there's rehydration clause in the contract: they have to weigh at 170 at 8 am in the day of the fight... otherwise, there is a $300,000 penalty per pound weight...
None of that has anything to do with the post I responded to.
I apologize if it sounded personal,I just have been explaining to many on here constantly that weight rehydration are among the biggest fallacies in boxing & that as long as a fighter makes weight it doesn't matter.I just notice others pick & choose whos supposedly a weight bully
So remind me again how the 10 lbs rehydration clause is going to hurt Canelo just as much as Jacobs...
This fight is a joke.
I thought you claim canelos a natural cw remember? remember when you were arguing that Canelos far bigger than ggg & that he can only perform when hes weight bullying his" tiny"opponents?
What happened suddenly now he has a big advantage because he supposedly doesn't need to rehydrate to 190,suddenly hes at a advantage 4 being the "lil" guy now?
So do people like rehydration clauses now or not? People complain all the time about so called "weight bullies" but when two fighters both agree to a rehydration clause suddenly its controversial.
The irony of you telling someone they should do research but it is in fact you who needed to do the research. Golden boy felt the need to include one which also includes hefty fines if it's not complied with.
And? Jacobs agreed to it right? No excuses. Mikey agreed to fight Spence no excuses from him or anyone else who signs a contract.

it's more like people have a problem with the hypocrisy of someone who has benefitted most of their career from having a weight advantage on fight night vs smaller opponents, suddenly implementing a rehydration clause for their last 2 fights now that the opponents are bigger men. Determining whether a rehydration clause should be implemented based on whether or not it suits you personally from fight to fight understandably annoys some fans.

The fight likely wouldn't have been made if he didn't. Just like pac opponents used to have to agree to his lame catch weight requests, Canelo is trying to use his status to gain an advantage. Canelo arbitrarily decides if he wants a rehydration clause because now he's finally fighting bigger men. Where was this request when he was picking on little amir khan, or beefy Smith, or josesito Lopez?
