... not a big rocket science here... we've already got various fights in such manner in the recent past...

Some fighters seem more eager to take these 'win win' scenarios than they do genuine 50-50s these days.

Could be because they arent as worried about losing a fight they are big underdog in as they would be losing to someone their own size?

Can come back to bite them though, even if public opinion isnt damaged by the loss, your body and fighting spirit can be.

Moving up and taking big risks is something you do after you have cleaned out your division imo, or at least established yourself as clear no.1.

Plenty of unfinished business at 135 or 140. Same as Spence has at 147. This is a fight where the inevitable outcome will prove very little about each of the fighters. Its not particularly interesting to me.

I give Mikey till the middle rounds, and thats only because Spence is a patient fighter. He wont be able to get Spences respect (his power already looked faded at 140, let alone vs a big 147lber), he isnt athletic enough, or skilled enough to avoid punishment for 12 rounds vs a skilled pressure fighter like Spence. Not to say he isnt extremely skilled, but he isnt that skilled. He ain't Pacquiao. He is going to get pushed back and pushed back with no way of keeping Spence honest, and he is going to get mauled to ****.

Sometimes, guts is nothing more than a lack of brains.

Sometimes, divas need to be put in their place.

If Mikey pulls it off, I will be amazed. I'm also disheartened a bit because Mikey moved away from what would have been a classic between him and Lomachenko. That was much more risky for him.

The Spence fight is a win-win for him, no matter the result. Much more pressure is on Spence, and if he doesn't beat him down, it may negatively affect his rep.

What kind of fight/sports fan are you?? These are the types of challenges that make fighters and the sport great to watch, yet you're griping about mismatches? You're not even going to watch the fight, so why complain? Mikey is doing what so many fighters say they want and intend to do, but never do. He's fighting for glory. Sorry that you can't relate or even appreciate what he's trying to do.

But, I suppose its not just you. There seems to be quite a lot of late cynicism on these boards about this fight. I don't get it. I'm looking forward to being entertained.

He is taking a massive career high payday(15-20 mill split between them) with a built in excuse for his loss. Articles like this are the proof. Garcia is no different than Khan who whored himself out for money vs a much larger fighter who everyone knew would stop him and ridiculed him for it. If you weren't on khan nuts giving him props for taking that fight then keep that same attitude for Garcia.

You sound like you spent your entire childhood on the porch jealous of the neighborhood kids who spent the day climbing trees and playing football. It made you cynical of those people who challenge themselves.

No I just try to keep it 100 across the board when judging people actions and am most likely not as affected by the human trait of tribalism like yourself.

Just like Brooks 'win win' situation vs Golovkin.

I mean it ended up breaking his face and effectively ended his prime, but it was win win.
