But how come AJ gets a UK rematch and not Fury?? Since Wilder was playing the lineal card just as much as Fury in the build up (calling them both no 1&2)
Because the money on the fight is in the US, and that's clear. Wilder was willing to travel, Fury wanted the fight at Old Trafford, but when the camps sat down and looked at the numbers, the US made sense.

Wilder-Joshua, for the unified heavyweight championship, will draw well over 1m buys in the US; getting to $100m was always a bit tricky to me, but SHOPPV/SkyBO/MGM Resorts could easily deliver Wilder and Joshua $70m+ to split up between them.

Depending on how the fight goes, the rematch likely doubles that.

Who trades that potential to split maybe $45m in the UK?

You need to ask Fury, Arum, and Warren why they refused a 50/50 rematch. Fear is the factor. Hear me out on this. Why would you demand a rematch and when it is in your grasp, you tuck tail and run to Arum? He already has a promoter and were about to run back a very successful fight. If they were not afraid, they would have taken the money and "make Wilder look ******" again right? After that, you can go do your shady dealings with Arum and at least have an actual belt to try to lure better fighters over to ESPN.
“Romanticize” is exactly what Wilder’s little haters have done with that Fury fight. Fury fought a good defensive fight. But he did next to nothing offensively. And he only landed at about a 25% rate. If you’re gonna be defensive and economical with your punches. You have to be accurate. And most importantly, you can’t get put on your ass twice in the fight. When you get dropped twice and score no KDs of your own. You basically have to win eight rounds to win the fight. And in a fight where each fighter is basically landing an equal number of shots in each round. It’s kinda hard to definitively win 8-9 rounds, which Fury needed to win the fight.

This article is dumb. Like the writer can't fathom why a fighter would take a huge multi fight deal? For the money. He's going to make more money off this deal.

Why the fuq would Tyson give a toss about Wilders loyalties? Wilder is a network free agent. He can fight Fury if he wants. He might have to give espn an interim fight, but so what? Wilder loves fighting bums for good pay days.

It's hilarious the writer thinks we should be appalled on behalf of a huge corporation like CBS. GTFO. Important thing is the fight happens. Wilder is free to fight on ESPN. He openly said he is a network free agent, which means he is willing. Great. Article is just silly painting CBS as a noble entity and ESPN as bad.

55/45 Joshua split, fight is in the US, on Sky Box Office in the UK (Joshua's broadcaster) and SHOPPV in the US (Wilder's broadcaster), with Hearn getting the rematch on DAZN with a Joshua win (65/35 Joshua split) and Haymon/DiBella getting the rematch again for SHOPPV with a Wilder win (55/45 Wilder).

A bunch of moving parts, but not that tough a deal to figure out if folks bargain in good faith.
The 1st fight will happen in the uk and I will wager it with you...wilder is in a tough spot now ..unable to carry s ppv on his own and if he fights Breazeale it’s back to 2 million purses and if he kownacki he could well be knocked out and rematch against ortziz not a given.
Wilder will have to fight a decent fighter to try and keep his name in the air now and that’s risky as he is s knockout waiting to happen

            It's a big draw
Breazeale, Ortiz2, Kownacki, and Joyce are basically set as Wilder's next 4 fights were the Fury rematch and Joshua fights not to happen (Andy Ruiz may even get on enough of a roll to make himself viable; Ajagba is still too far out. Dillian Whyte may come over).

Not the greatest run possible, but a good run of fights.

Interesting to see what Fury's next 5 fights would be, without Wilder or Joshua.

Great way to spend $100m, right?

Wilder-Ortiz drew 1.3m, was a great fight, Wilder-Fury drew 325k+ on US PPV (public report if the projection plus what Showtime sold direct to consumer), Ortiz is on track to have flattened his 3 opponents since, and the rematch is still a great matchup.

              Doubt if you want

Its the worst basement living Users on here are coincidentally almost all AJ groupies and Wilder haters.

Is it possible Hearn/Matchroom have room full of computers and pay adults who wear coke glasses and bike helmets to type away non stop about either their love of AJ or hate for Wilder to try and sway public opinion . I’m starting to think this is a real possibility with some of these posters

Probably right about him being paid there’s a couple other I know/think are paid to post their biased s.hit opinions but won’t admit it or go ghost when I’ve called them out on which isn’t exactly a

It’s been Brezeale all along, I said months ago that Brezeale stepped aside for Haymon twice, it’s got to happen and it will. Think about it, if AJ and Wilders reputations are peak after their next fights then they have to face each other and cash in those chips. That would mean Brezeale is sitting on the sideline again and could risk never getting another shot if AJ cleaned up the belts.

Haymon only gets to advise fighters because he keeps his promises, once he starts breaking them, word gets around and his clients dry up. It will be Wilder vs Brezeale next.
