    Three-division, four-time champion Abner Mares has been forced to pull out of the WBA Super Featherweight title match against two-time super featherweight champion Gervonta Davis on Saturday, February 9 after suffering an injury while training. Davis will now defend against former world champion Hugo Ruiz in the main event of SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING, with coverage beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT from Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California and presented by Premier Boxing Champions.

      LOL. A natural bantamweight who was KO'd at 122 the last time he fought someone halfway decent. LOL. Cancelling the card would have been better.

        Just need a unification bout next for Tank, preferably Farmer.

          Just realized Ruiz fought 10 rounds on Pac/Broner card. Old school fighting within three weeks!

            Can't fault anyone. You do what you have to with a last minute replacement.

            That said, the extra weight will only help Hugo who will have height and reach on the tank. Certainly Hugo will be emotionally charged up for this fight and Tank won't be expecting much. Formula for a huge upset??
