Canelo had only one fight, got a controversial win and failed a drug test, no matter how good you think Golovkin is. Usyk will have beaten the #2, #3 and arguably #4/#5 (Bellew was #5 per TBRB before the Haye fights) in one year. I know it's not directly relevent to FOTY but if you take his overall performances over the last coupla years he's either beat or beat the guy who beat everyone of significance at 200Lbs.

In my book no guy with just one fight in a year ever deserves it in any case no matter how good you consider his win to be. And 'white privilege'?... c'mon man - you trying to make yourself look silly?

lol so what's Canelo then? Indigenous? Mestizo? Black?

He's one of the whitest fighters in the sport.

Whatever drop he had of anything other than caucasian has been completely diluted throughout the generations.

He takes a DNA test, it'll probably say he's well over 90%+ Spaniard.

Usyk beat 2 undefeated World Champs in their backyards this year to become THE ONLY Undisputed World Champ in boxing. What have the others done ????

Usyk is the correct choice. If not, Crawford. Becoming undisputed in any division isn't a feat easily accomplished.

Huge Canelo fan here, but you cant have it both ways.

During negotiations I did nothing but support Canelo saying Gennady is a JOKE and a CUCK - which he is - for claiming "greatness" and PFP placement....despite beating nothing but cab drivers and losing a close fight to Danny Jacobs.

Gennady lost twice to Canelo and what was impressive was how Canelo beat Gennady using two different styles.

Gennady was never a PFP fighter. Gennady is not an ATG MW. Gennady is a media machine who is not actually that good of a fighter.

Usyk is better than Gennady and I don't think theres a lot of debate there. In 15 pro fights Usyk has already developed a resume which Gennady could never match...despite having 40 fights. FORTY.

Any respectable PFP list has the following Top 7 - in any order:

                TC/Loma
                Rungvisai
                Usyk
                Mikey
                Inoue
                Canelo

#8-10 can be filled with any of: AJ, LSC, Nietes, Frampton, Hurd, GR Jr.

Like it or not Usyk is a PFP fighter. All of the guys I have listed have already fought the best their division(s) offer and/or moved up divisions to fight better opponents. That is why you dont see Gennady, Spence, Charlos, etc.

Usyk is the fighter of the year, no doubt, there's no other options. Defeated 2 undefeated top cruiserweights in their prime and about to add money fight Bellew to his resume, collecting all belts in his division

It will be fully deserved if he wins FOTY!

BTW I predicted that there will be some pathefic black fans here to confront & cry about it!

                      LOL!
