Khabib's problem is that he jumped over the cage to attack someone, it wasn't self defense in any way. And i'm sorry but "defending his religion' is still not self defense, it's dumb and he's wrong for doing what he did. He attacked someone physically due to WORDS that person said. Well, the russian jumped the fence to attach some of conors guys because conor disrespected his country, his religion and his family.
