Khabib is from an honor based clan culture his programming isn't as yours. An insult has an elevated importance because he looses respect and manhood in a culture that emphasizes those traits as a sort of living, breathing thing, your actual persona. This is even further exacerbated by being a representative of your clan so they lose face too as an extension of you. McGreggor insulted Khabib's parent - a sacred entity in it's own right - but he also did it in such a fashion as pointing to cowardice wich is basically the same as having no value at all.

McGreggor is a world famous athlete so Khabib's camp will compose themselves in this case but it really is a foundation for serious violence and people losing their lives. If that type of talk was leveled by someone of lesser statue than McGreggor it would've been on.

To me jumping a fence and attacking people in the crowd and jumping an opponent who has just been beaten in the ring from behind in a surprise attack is pure cowardly acts, nothing short of that
