Mikey is a great fighter. at 135, Id pick Loma though, and he might embarrass him.

That would be far more devastating to Mikeys Career than moving up to 147 for Spence and having Robert throw in the towel at the first signs of trouble.
Don't be "pretty sure" cuz it might look worse for lomo if he doesn't ask for that fight....if easter with a 4 inch height advantage & a 8 inch reach advantage couldn't "embarrass" Mickey what makes you THINK lomo would embarrass Mickey??

id say mikey/loma is 50/50...id prob have to pick loma just by virtue of his overall skill level seeming to be better.....but i dont think its a fight he might not be able to recover from mentally and physically...a one sided loma win might only be something mikey would have to recover from mentally

i do agree with mikey sentiment tho...i doubt arum lets this happen
I think the only thing lomo has on mickey is speed. It could be enough to beat Mickey but I wouldn't bet on it. This is the kind of fight where bob arum has to be less involved in....

If he believes he needs to fight someone to achieve greatness, then he will fight them. I can't imagine Arum would remain in Loma's employ for long if he tried to block the fight.
        Let's just hope your right.

But this is what he has to say instead:

“After a period of not fighting, it would be ****** of me to step right in there against Mikey. Of course, I’d like to fight someone like Beltran,” Lomachenko said. “Beltran would be easier than Mikey.

To be fair with lomo he should get a tune up after the shoulder injury.

This a excuse not to get whooped by Loma but instead take a moral victory to get whooped by Spence

Casuals have an excuse because they don't know any better, but people here need to cut the b.s.

Top Rank (and more importantly ESPN) is not about to risk the only two valuable properties they have in their deal with ESPN by taking losses to guys that they don't control (Spence and Garcia). Don't bring up Linares because we all know (If we're honest) that he had no chance to beat Loma. He just isn't very good and his record/resume reflects that (and Golden Boy has an ESPN contract btw).

If those two guys were to lose then ESPN would have a contract that becomes really hard to justify with Top Rank. It's not like the ratings are all that good anyway without Manny. There's a business reality to all of this.

Unless Loma and Crawford start kicking and screaming (like Floyd had to once upon a time), the fights won't happen anytime soon.
              You got that right!

I’m not trying to be disrespectful to Mikey( ok maybe a bit) but someone with Loma’s Skill set what is there to be afraid of Mikey. He is not a busy fighter, doesn’t throw an array of punches, not particularly that fast , has stamina issues when the pace is pushed but has great timing and patience and good power. Frankly Loma could pot shot him all fight and Mikey wouldn’t even lay a glove on him. A non stop flying wasp buzzing around your face for 36 minutes. When was the last time Anyone slapped the s#hit out of a fly making himself a nuisance around your head. You just can’t hit it. But if you do it’s game over. Well with Mikey’s one-two he ain’t hitting nothing
You know lomo doesn't have a great defense right? His defense is when he steps with his right foot (southpaw) then pivots around you. He can be caught coming in like linares did when he put him on his seat.

                  I don't disagree.

But you have guys on here saying that Mikey Garcia is ducking Lomachenko which is ridiculous.

He said "whichever one asks me for the lowest purse." It was funny, but that's Bob. It's all about money and control. Lomachenko is not afraid of Mikey! He really wants that fight! But Bob is not going to let that fight be a Showtime PPV! Crawford is not afraid of Spence Jr., but Arum is not going to let that fight be a Showtime PPV. Honestly, I can't blame him (though I do hate him). He made a pitch to ESPN, they accepted. He's growing their brand nicely (ESPN+) with good fights. It would be treason to let Loma or Crawford go to Showtime! What I wish they would do is make a trade! Spence comes to ESPN for Crawford, and Lomachenko goes to Showtime for Mikey! Everybody wins!
I would prefer Errol/Bud (the better fight) on Sho PPV & Mickey/lomo on espn cuz I don't *** with the espn plus app, that shet is wack.
