Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia: Arum is NOT Going To Allow Lomachenko Fight!

WBC, IBF lightweight champion Mikey Garcia (39-0, 30 KOs) explained that he's not wasting his time with pursuing a potential fight against WBA champion Vasyl Lomachenko (11-1, 9 KOs) - because the two-time Olympic gold medal winner's promoter, Bob Arum of Top Rank, will never allow it to happen. Garcia had been promoted by Arum for most of his career - but they had a falling out in 2014.

Im pretty sure Loma signed terms that he choses who he fights. Same as he signed terms that he was to get a world title shot in his 2nd fight.

Mikey is a great fighter. at 135, Id pick Loma though, and he might embarrass him.

That would be far more devastating to Mikeys Career than moving up to 147 for Spence and having Robert throw in the towel at the first signs of trouble.

eh...maybe...but i dunno.....theres a certain group of fans around here who claim that brook moving up and having his trainer throwin that towel, at the first sign of trouble, essentially ruined and ended his career.......at least with loma the embarrassment might only be mental

id say mikey/loma is 50/50...id prob have to pick loma just by virtue of his overall skill level seeming to be better.....but i dont think its a fight he might not be able to recover from mentally and physically...a one sided loma win might only be something mikey would have to recover from mentally

i do agree with mikey sentiment tho...i doubt arum lets this happen

Arum has already stated that unless Garcia wants to fight on ESPN and accept the monetary offer on the table - the fight will not happen.

Remember Pacquiao had to meet with Floyd privately w/o Arum to get the ball rolling.

I don't think Loma would let anyone stand in his way.

If he believes he needs to fight someone to achieve greatness, then he will fight them. I can't imagine Arum would remain in Loma's employ for long if he tried to block the fight.

He did fight Russell Jr on Showtime but I doubt Arum will let that happen again.

It's highly unlikely this fight will happen anytime soon.
