It's unreal how many boxing fans lack common sense or choose to ignore the obvious because of their love for a fighter. It's happened with Canelo fans in the past, currently Joshua fans and now Loma fans. Arum will not let Loma fight Mikey. Mikey had a bitter falling out with top rank, there is no way arum will risk one of his two biggest names to lose to somebody who left his promotional company, because he won't benefit financially from Mikey beyond that 1 fight. Just check Pacquiao's career since he signed with arum & see how many guys he fought that weren't somehow connected to top rank.

If that is true then Lomachenko needs to speak up now and say he wants Mikey Garcia in December. Not the winner of Beltran/Pedraza.

But this is what he has to say instead:

“After a period of not fighting, it would be ****** of me to step right in there against Mikey. Of course, I’d like to fight someone like Beltran,” Lomachenko said. “Beltran would be easier than Mikey.

It's dumb for fans that frequent this forum to keep bringing up Loma v. Garcia or Spence v. Crawford.

Casuals have an excuse because they don't know any better, but people here need to cut the b.s.

Top Rank (and more importantly ESPN) is not about to risk the only two valuable properties they have in their deal with ESPN by taking losses to guys that they don't control (Spence and Garcia). Don't bring up Linares because we all know (If we're honest) that he had no chance to beat Loma. He just isn't very good and his record/resume reflects that (and Golden Boy has an ESPN contract btw).

If those two guys were to lose then ESPN would have a contract that becomes really hard to justify with Top Rank. It's not like the ratings are all that good anyway without Manny. There's a business reality to all of this.

Unless Loma and Crawford start kicking and screaming (like Floyd had to once upon a time), the fights won't happen anytime soon.

Ok i understand but just imagine and this is a big if ,so don’t get mad, Arum actually believed Loma will wipe the floor with Mikey. Why then wouldn’t he make the fight. I’m not trying to be disrespectful to Mikey( ok maybe a bit) but someone with Loma’s Skill set what is there to be afraid of Mikey. He is not a busy fighter, doesn’t throw an array of punches, not particularly that fast , has stamina issues when the pace is pushed but has great timing and patience and good power. Frankly Loma could pot shot him all fight and Mikey wouldn’t even lay a glove on him. A non stop flying wasp buzzing around your face for 36 minutes. When was the last time Anyone slapped the s#hit out of a fly making himself a nuisance around your head. You just can’t hit it. But if you do it’s game over. Well with Mikey’s one-two he ain’t hitting nothing

It's highly unlikely this fight will happen anytime soon.
Just remember that was after the Salido loss (they were looking to get him in with a name) and Haymon won the purse bid for that fight.

Bob didn't willingly agree to terms with Haymon. They weren't in a position to just walk away from that purse bid. It was a very unique situation.

Funny thing is, that was Loma's best win to date (didn't invlove any funny business like forcing guys up, or inactive opponents, or fighting hyped-mediocre comp). Beating Russell in that fashion made it clear that he was really good in my view.

They (TR) lost the purse bid. It wasn't a negotiated fight.

              April 18, 2014:

According to the World Boxing Organization, Golden Boy Promotions beat Top Rank in today's purse bid, earning the right to promote the fight between Gary Russell and Vasyl Lomachenko for the vacant WBO featherweight championship. Golden Boy bid $1,052,500, while Top Rank bid $1,050,000. The WBO was told fight will be held on June 21 in Los Angeles.

Lololololol. He isn’t lying Beltran is easier but is he wrong to think like this?Let’s see how he performs after surgery. Tell me one fighter that has surgery and agrees to fight his toughest opponent of his career next fight?...... Apart from Kell Brook and look how that turned out

Unfortunately for Crawford and Lomachenko, Floyd had to do more than kick and scream. He had to pay to get out that contract in order to get the De La Hoya fight! Then we remember all the roadblocks for Mayweather vs. Pacquiao (scared of needles, stadiums, fake contracts, etc.). Basically, if you want to fight Lomachenko or Crawford, you'll have to come to ESPN.

Watch more boxing lol Timing cures all of that. There's no better fighter in the game at timing guys than Garcia. Trust, if it was such an easy fight, Arum would be demanding the fight (and would pay anything to get it). His matchmakers aren't dumb. His behavior on the matter makes it fairly clear what they think.

Floyd Mayweather v. Castillo II. It's not unheard of.
