your point is mute because prime already offers Showtime and HBO with out a cable subscription. HBO and Showtime both offer app use which includes live events, with out a cable subscription. Why would I purchase DAZN when I can use prime, get all the streaming I want, plus live events from HBO and Showtime? Hearn'll make some money, but the big dogs remain big for a reason, they already did/doing what Hearn is just starting to do.

If the cable system goes then Showtime and HBO will struggle to continue in their current form. I'm not saying they won't. HBO have a very clever guy advising them on future trends and I'm sure both companies are all over this, but their existing model of operation is in serious danger. They may not be around in their current form in a few years, big changes happpen very quickly in media.

Maybe DAZN fails, most start-ups do. What they're attempting to provide however may be a much better model for a sustainable sports platform in the post cable milieu. So they have a chance.

The outright dollar amount would draw note, but Hearn is sharp enough to take that and weigh it against the entire package that Sky Sports offers his boxers.

It is because Al Haymon is manager not a competing promoter. Haymon only has a pre-existing relationship with Showtime, there is nothing to suggest that he will be loyal to Showtime. He should and I think will be loyal to his fighters which is to get them the best purses possible.

Lol, I totally agree with you. The two biggest sharks here in the states are Bob Arum and Al Haymon.
Then you got smaller sharks like Oscar and Mayweather among others.... It's not gonna be easy for him to crack the American market, I don't give a fucc how much money he got.... So we'll wait and see how successful he is here in the states...

He should have at least made some concrete deals first which he clearly hasn’t. The moment Hearn announced the “billion dollar war chest”. Every potential fighter realised he has A LOT of money and NEEDS to sign fighters by September. Hearn announcing that has lost him so much leverage in potential negotiations. Rookie error.

Think your reading of the AB situation is wrong. The truth is does he really want/need AB? If I was Hearn, AB is someone I wouldn't overpay. We'll see who he has managed to sign in a couple of weeks.

Weird to me that so many people on here think this is some sort of Haymon v Hearn battle. If Haymon is the guy everyone says he is, his guys will sign with Hearn if it is the right deal. Al takes a % of the fighter's purses so if Eddie pays them more than what they're getting elsewhere and gets them to box more regularly then its more money for him and his fighters.
