Duva asked to have Kovalev installed as the WBC mandatory, hoping to force settlement discussions. But then Michel refused to negotiate anything, and called for immediate purse bids. Knowing they would lose the purse bid, Duva pulled out because she could risk Kovalev (and her) losing the HBO deal.

So if Adonis wanted the fight…why refuse to negotiate? It was supposed to be a PPV fight, and no PPV in history has been made in a purse bid. They knew that threatening to win the purse bid and put the fight on Showtime was a no-go for Kovalev. So Team Chickenson's push for a purse bid was not an attempt to actually make the fight. It was a way to guarantee the fight didn’t happen.

But then Kathy refused to negotiate anything, so after 30 days of failed negociation Michel ask the WBC to go on with the purse bids. To ease the process, the WBC even set the purse cut at 50% each opponent. Knowing Kovalev was a free agent without any TV contract, Duva thought her bluff would have push Stevenson to vacate his title. Duva pulled out because she could risk Kovalev to lose against Stevenson, after all the crap they feed fans with in 2014; they realised Stevenson was more than excited to make that fight.

So if Duva wanted the fight…why refuse to negotiate? We all know she's the one acting angry towards Yvon Michel. It was supposed to be a PPV fight. Team Stevenson didn't think that threatening to win the purse bid and put the fight on Showtime was a no-go for Kovalev. So Stevenson and the WBC just followed the "WBC Rules and Regulations" about the 30 days failed negociations policy, which was an attempt to actually make that fight happen. It was a way to guarantee the best 50/50 purse for both Stevenson and Kovalev.

Oh brother.......here's one more guy that thinks he's knows boxing but doesn't know that Kovalev nor Stevenson were sign under HBO in 2013. Stevenson had a new deal with Showtime and he went to HBO to match it, but HBO rejected it. By moving to Sho, at least Stevenson had to fight IBF WBA Champ Hopkins, which also fleed from Stevenson....
Kovalev signed a one year contract with HBO right AFTER Stevenson signed his long term deal with Showtime. So Kovalev had the choice to fight under Showtime since the beginning.

Go read the articles that I've posted on here already, pages back and come back and apologize. Stevenson jumped ship when HBO was setting up the fight. Whether it was for more money or to avoid the fight is irrelevant. History is still history and you can't change it no matter what you say or do. And if last night is not a good indicator of why Stevenson avoided Sergei like a disease, I can't talk any sense into you.

Kovalev threw more and landed more in every round but two and it was even in one of those two rounds. To believe that Ward won, with the KD being scored, one would have to have given Ward 8 rounds! No fkn way. That just didn't happen. Nobody but paid off judges are that dumb.

We all know this is what happened initially. HBO failed to lock up Stevenson on a deal to ensure the fight happened so Haymon screwed them by taking Stevenson to SHO.

Would you advise your fighter to fight an HBO signed fighter on HBO? Probably not. But yes, HBO and Stevenson are blamed for the initial cancellation.

Later on, Duva asked for Kov to be Stevenson's mando. She got that wish. When they couldn't make a deal (and if you're Duva you should have seen this coming) it goes to a purse bid. With the purse bid impending HBO made her ask out of Kov being the mando as part of them resigning Kov because Haymon would've won the bid.

Then an HBO fighter would be fighting on SHO and HBO wouldn't allow that. Would you have advised Kov to walk away from that deal to fight Stevenson? Of course not.

How about you try and be a boxing fan and tell the complete story, not just the part where the guy you like takes no blame and the people you hate get all of it.
