Well, that was a b.s opponent to be awarded with but it is what it is. Boxing politics. The WBC will only enforce it if there's nothing left but they will let their champions fight a unification or a huge money fight before enforcing a mandatory. Charlo in the meantime has spare time to fight somebody worth a damn and instead he'll fight guys like Centeno.

If you beat another top 5 in the whole division guy your stock goes up and more people demand certain fights. Charlo is certainly behind BJS, Canelo, Jacobs in the pecking order and at best he's only as deserving as Devreychenko and Andrade. You don't think him fighting Jacobs strengthens his position? It eliminates a guy who's likely and more deserving of a shot ahead of him and separates himself from the others.

I guess you'd rather see Centeno II than Jacobs.

im more than ok with charlo/jacobs....id love to see it....i never argued against it.....it would be perfect for barclays and would do very well im guessing

simply telling you what has happened and who has/hasnt proven more instead of your own warped reality...andrade is one of the biggest disappointments there is...and he hasnt proven more nor was fox any better of an opponent than heiland or centeno.....

you arent wrong though...if theres a canelo rematch or a unification the wbc will def bypass the mando....but charlo just needs to keep being featured on showtime and knocking people out and the demand will be there.....

im not really sure jacobs is ahead of charlo in the pecking order tho...maybe in golovkins since he already knows he can beat him...jacobs had his shot and didnt get it done...didnt do anything spectacular or flash anything great.....weve already heard sanchez try to shoot down charlo as a credible opponent which is abel speak for "yeah that doesnt appeal to us"...and believe you me its because they view him as a live threat

I thought I heard Sanchez say Charlo is now more acceptable as a possible contender. He wasn't as dismissive as before. He said, and I agree, that some of these guys fighting each other and not just waiting for Golovkin makes them more marketable. It is better for the sport.

About the only guy he sounded like he didn't see Golovkin fighting is Saunders and that's because Saunders "wants lottery money". Time will tell but I'll be surprised if Golovkin's next three fights (assuming he wins the first then the second) will be against top echelon fighters (Canelo, Charlo, Derevy, Saunders).

i havent heard/seen anything recent by sanchez about charlo...but it wasnt all that long ago he was pretty dismissive...it was almost like he took the same lines they said about lara and used them for charlo

id be suprised too if golovkins next 3 play out like that or even sort of like that....i think thats alot to ask of him and doub the goes through something like that unblemished

its just ridiculous that someone, chrisjs in particular, is trying to dismiss charlo by saying that even andrade is more proven and somehow fox is a better opponent than heiland or centeno...and then goes on to tell us, that to him, andrade is more talented by the eye test

andrade had a nice size advantage against cuclcay and didnt look good at all....and couldnt take him out...fox was tall but his resume suggested no experience against anything recognizable

all charlo has done is reel off 3 straight impressive ko's while being featured on showtime...the williams fight alone is better than anything andrade has done imo and then he went up and scored two more ko's....that kind of talk chris exhibited is rooted in nothing but fanboyism that he swears he detests and is above.....he says charlo is no threat but actually feels the complete opposite when he makes ignorant statements like he did

im fine with charlo/jacobs..in fact i think it would be a heck of matchup...but i dont think charlo needs it in order to get a spot in line

Good question, and to truthfully answer I'd say I don't know. I'm no fan of BJS but I think he probably poses the most difficult matchup for Charlo. I think Billy Joe, when in top form, poses problems for GGG, Canelo and Jacobs.

As an aside, I usually favor pure boxers with defensive prowess in matchups against power punchers. Volume punchers usually match up favorably against pure boxers and power punchers usually fare well against volume punchers. Almost like a rock, paper, scissors when all else appears equal. I think BJS is probably the best boxer at 160 and I don't know of any top level volume punchers in the division that would give him fits.

Everyone HERE is afraid of Jermall fighting lil g. Jermall should fight for the #1 spot on the ibf cuz everyone HERE says lil g should defend his title there cuz its next up to bat. So if Mall gets the wbc & ibf #1 spot I want to see what these twinkies say then. Jacobs can wait being that they are young enough while lil g's time is limited.
