Seeing a lot of hype about 70k-90k people in nosebleed seats making more money than Vegas. People lie, numbers don't so lets have a look!
Disclaimer: I can't fight a lot of gate info for UK so feel free to send some in.
Anthony Joshua vs Vlad Klitschko was all I could find.
Gate receipts from the 90,000 sell-out crowd - a post-war British record - will generate £8million.

Source: With Wembley packed to its 90,000 capacity, gate revenue from tickets that ranged from £60 up to £2,200 is calculated to be in the region of £8m.

For those of you that don't know, £9M = 12.7M USD.
Hopkins who was NEVER a PPV guy nor a big draw put 14,345 įsses in seats against Calzaghe in 2008 for 11.6M.
Hopkins vs Hoya 14 years ago did 12.78M with 15,672 people in attendance.
Tyson vs McNeely did 13.9M with 16,113. 1995 man, 23 years ago (LMAO).
Lewis vs Holyfield 2 did 16.8M with 17,078 in 1999, 19 years ago.

If I'm in error here, definitely willing to listen to reason. But from the data I've presented that is readily available, 90k nosebleed cheap seats where you get a free toaster and a fish-n-chip plate for a few quid make a siginificently less gate revenue than what Vegas can do.
I don't see how being in the industry warrants more knowledge that what independant research can do. The numbers are here, let's go! The UK is using that to keep Joshua protected.
