I did not get to watch it really close. May give it a serious look when I have a little more time, but it was not the Lara we are all used to. Erislandy Lara is one of the most intelligent boxers working today. So it has to be one of a few things:

-Hurd hurt him at some point we did not see and Lara had to respond differently in the ring. As a result, the rumble was engaged and Lara could not readjust as the fight wore on.
-As Mr.Clutch85 stated in post 11, Lara's legs and endurance has slipped forcing him to be in front way more than he normally would.
-It was actually a game plan. Maybe Lara and his team saw something on tape they thought they could exploit.

Again, I need to really watch the fight. But it did seem like Lara just played into Hurd's strengths.

Credit should be given to Hurd for the victory rather than Lara's age and legs.

Hurd always strategize to find a way to win.

Charlo is a come forward fighter so Hurd will use the tools he used to beat Frank Galarza to beat Charlo too.

Lara started to work to hard to get to the lanky Hurd and was starting to get caught by his punches at a distance. It showed that Hurd trained for a running Lara and he flip the script on him. He decided to sit in the pocket and was really doing good in spots until Hurd wore him down.

Good fight and both guys looked good.

Lara fought the wrong fight. He should have stuck to his stick and move style. It's better

Same thing I was thinking. Lara had to overextend in order to get to Hurd. So maybe he figured he would just have to do work on the inside. It's all guessing unless we ask Lara and his team. I picked Lara to win but Hurd's stamina impressed me. I didn't think he would be able to pressure Lara the entire 12 rounds. Good fight regardless.

The ring looked small to me as Lara had nowhere to run.

America has fxcked Lara how many times now?
Lara can't even catch a break when he is giving fans what they want to see, very sad.

Lara can crack with that left and was catching Hurd a lot in the beginning of the fight. I thought Lara would make Hurd weary of coming in but he could not discourage Hurd.

Lara was getting caught in the outside and indeed had to over extend himself to catch Hurd. Hurd has some chin and stamina. Hurd remind me of Guillermo Jones when he fought at SWW
