they are vacant because the IBF does not just "appoint" someone to the #1 or #2 spot, you actually have to fight another top 10 opponent in an eliminator to get the #1 or #2 spot. Ocampo is getting the shot because a mando is due, and at #3 he is currently the highest rated contender.

Ranking Porter would be ******ed because there is no way he takes the fight. He just won a minor WBC title and is the mando to Thurman. He is going to sit (or maybe fight a dummy in the meantime) until he gets the Thurman fight.

the point i was trying to make is that porter can most certainly fight errol for his strap if he really wanted to. All he would have to do is have haymon call the ibf and tell them to rank porter. Porter saying “im not allowed to fight him” is just BS!! You and i both know he wants no part of spence and would rather be inactive waiting for thurman to fight him..... AGAIN!

People like to bash the IBF when a fight they dont like is mandated. I agree that sometimes the IBF mandos are dog****, (morrade hakkar, dominic wade, etc) but its certainly the best of the 4 sanctioning bodies, because the others simply appoint whomever they want to the #1 spot, and then they dont enforce a mando for 3 or 4 years, if ever. At least the IBF requires you to fight a mando or a unification at least once every 9 months.

Yes yes I remember Ponomarev ducking the eliminator to fight Ocampo. Pulled out like 2 weeks before the bout. His trainer is Abel Sanchez and Abel knows special when he sees it.

Ok let's start with the fact that Peterson ain't a real phuking Welterweight and work back from there. He is a old career 140lb fighter who just moved to 147 for the first time his last fight. Now he's one of the top welterweights in the world? He was also an inactive fighter who hadn't fought for almost a year. Before that looked terrible got his azz kicked by 140lb Felix Diaz but got a BS decision that almost NOBODY thought he won back in 2015. So he's only fought once in almost 3 years and that was his first fight ever at 147 against a average Avanesyan who isn't on anybody's top welterweight rankings and didn't look great in that fight. But that makes Peterson a top welterweight? He was iced by Matthyssee half a decade ago and doesn't have a win over a top fighter since 2011 and that was a fight he was busted for PEDs and at 140 has done literally NOTHING at welterweight. Don't turn into a GGG fanboy where we start pumping up guys just because GGG fought them. Peterson is old, beaten multiple times, not a real welterweight, inactive, wasn't a big puncher at 140 and now in his second fight at 147 was a massive underdog in this fight for a reason. Nobody picked him to win and the vegas line was crazy lopsided because this was a mismatch. Peterson is talking about retiring for a reason.

First off, the Danny Garcia fight, the Felix Diaz fight, and the David Avenesayan fight were all contested at welterweight, so there goes that drivel.

Beyond that, if you're honestly going to publicly stand out and say that Berto, Collazo, Horn, and Figueroa are all fighters you'd have as favorites against Peterson, that's on you, lol.
