I hate ABC groups. This is such a bs mandatory. One of Ocampo's 3 biggest W's is over Jorge Paez Jr. Big fan of Paez Sr back in the day, but his son never came close to reaching his dad's greatness. This mfer should at least have to beat a Sammy Vazquez or someone top 20ish, top 30ish to get a title shot. Boxing is so insane sometimes.

Thurman doesn't want it, Garcia is just coming back and doesn't want it, Porter has made it utterly clear in public that he doesn't want it, Amir Khan doesn't even want to whisper the man's name, and then you're to maybe Jessie Vargas (who'd likely take the fight, but has a possible Spence offer weighed against a Thurman offer).

Point to any other welterweight that you could definitely say is better than Lamont Peterson.

Ok let's start with the fact that Peterson ain't a real phuking Welterweight and work back from there. He is a old career 140lb fighter who just moved to 147 for the first time his last fight. Now he's one of the top welterweights in the world? He was also an inactive fighter who hadn't fought for almost a year. Before that looked terrible got his azz kicked by 140lb Felix Diaz but got a BS decision that almost NOBODY thought he won back in 2015. So he's only fought once in almost 3 years and that was his first fight ever at 147 against a average Avanesyan who isn't on anybody's top welterweight rankings and didn't look great in that fight. But that makes Peterson a top welterweight? He was iced by Matthyssee half a decade ago and doesn't have a win over a top fighter since 2011 and that was a fight he was busted for PEDs and at 140 has done literally NOTHING at welterweight. Don't turn into a GGG fanboy where we start pumping up guys just because GGG fought them. Peterson is old, beaten multiple times, not a real welterweight, inactive, wasn't a big puncher at 140 and now in his second fight at 147 was a massive underdog in this fight for a reason. Nobody picked him to win and the vegas line was crazy lopsided because this was a mismatch. Peterson is talking about retiring for a reason.

He just fought the only guy on that list I have seen fight. No wonder he wants to unify so badly. That is the only way to get good opponents for him at this point. I hope Thurman doesn't fight Vargas because he and Collozo are the only ones on record asking for a Spence fight. There is also a possibility of him facing the winner of Alexander vs Ortiz. If Crawford wins he will be in the same position.

they are vacant because the IBF does not just "appoint" someone to the #1 or #2 spot, you actually have to fight another top 10 opponent in an eliminator to get the #1 or #2 spot. Ocampo is getting the shot because a mando is due, and at #3 he is currently the highest rated contender.

Ranking Porter would be ******ed because there is no way he takes the fight. He just won a minor WBC title and is the mando to Thurman. He is going to sit (or maybe fight a dummy in the meantime) until he gets the Thurman fight.

When I was saying I'd rather Spence wait on a good opponent than fight trash opponents everybody disagreed and said he needs to stay active. Now he gets a trash opponent and now ppl are criticizing his opponent. This is exactly what ya'll wanted and now you got it and you still complaining.
