Comments Thread For: White: I Can Promote Boxing Better, Arum's TV Deal is Not Great

UFC President Dana White has a confident belief that his company will become a real force in the sport of boxing. White is moving forward with his plan to enter the boxing market in the coming months. White's company came together with Showtime last year, to promote the anticipated pay-per-view fight between former five division world champion Floyd Mayweather and UFC superstar Conor McGregor - which took place last August at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

So white is going to give us mismatches at the top level, but competitive fights between C-level guys? No one is interested in that either. The UFC is popular because the top guys have to face the next top guy almost every fight they take. The sport actually functions like a sport. Unless White can put good TOP LEVEL matchups together consistently, boxing is still going to be broken.

Dana's not wrong. Boxing as a whole has been doing the same sh^t as they were a decade ago & a decade before that. Don't get me wrong they've tweaked this a lil & played around with this other thing a lil, but all in all boxing is being promoted like its 1990 still. The world has changed drastically & boxing has barely moved.

Dana IS a better promoter than most if not all boxing promoters out there (there is an argument for Eddie Hearn, but mostly I see Hearn as a guy copycatting Dana). Want evidence? Dana can sell a PPV with top ten guys. Not the #1 guy vs the #2 guy. Not a P4P guy. Not a name guy. The #3 guy vs the #7 guy & bs like that that is more like a co-main or feature fight on a boxing PPV. And he basically does that all the time for years now. Show me anyone doing that in boxing. Show me anyone doing anything close to that in boxing.

Plus most boxing fans think MMA is an inferior product being sold to the public. If thats actually the case then he's an even better promoter to get the people paying $60+ a month to watch his inferior fighting product. Imagine what a guy like that could do in boxing if he gets any steam rising his way?

Not a huge fan of Dana white or the ufc for that matter, but I think he can do it better. The ufc has a pretty good system and I think one governing body is better than whatever is happening in the sport as of now. I guess all I really want for boxing is to make the fights that need to happen happen!, its all politics and we all know how ****ed politics can get.

It's good competition for him to come to boxing, but what network is his boxing going to be shown on?

Lol his shows outside of a Ronda, Lesnar and Connor event are terrible ppv numbers. Their GOAT cant even crack 100,000 ppv buys and this "promoter" bashes that fighter for his lack of sales when his job is to promote and sell the guy lol. This clown is clueless lol

MMA is below Boxing, but White is a better promoter than any boxing promoter. Once he becomes a promoter boxer will sing with him the same way they did with PBC (copy UFC three letter name). Boxers will be happy as long as the pay is decent and are given the opportunity to advance without politics.

                    What a dumb statement LOL.

I can say that without Floyd or Canelo - boxing wouldn't have close a million PPV event.

UFC just did over 800K without any of those names.

Without superstars the PPV numbers will be DUHHHHHHH
