I don't see why someone would say James Toney doesn't deserve $2.5 million. That's not even an outrageous amount to ask. I think $1.5 million is an insult, but just because Wlad's people didn't want to do it I don't think he's "avoiding Toney". I'd also like to say that I can respect people's opinion who think Toney would lose to Wladimir Klitschko, but if you came to that conclusion just based on Wlad's fight with Byrd then you're not too smart. Now way would Toney just sit there and eat punches like Byrd.

I agree with the article. Toney is a fool for expecting more, he talked **** before the bout but he wont back it up, yet hes being praised by his fans. 1.5 million is not a bad number...
Toney is just waiting for a shot at Rahman if he beats Maskeav, I actually dont blame the guy I wouldn't want to get my ass handed to me either...

For the record Toney is not the same man as he was when he fought Holyfeild. Plus that fight generated probley 2Xs as this one would.

And with Rahman, Rahman is closer to Toneys skill level so of course the purse would be cut closer.

With Ruiz, he got caught doping. and probley made less than this offer of 1.5

for me and you of course 1.5 isnt a bad number but for the 5'9 guy who was offered it to fight a 6'6 guy its an awful number, the risk defintly outway the reward and if Toney wanst to pay for the DAMAGE he may/will/would encounter by facing wlad 1.5 just doesnt hit the spot.... I really doubt that Wlad is ducking james.I would think considering all things that James would be Wlads first pick.I think Wlads team should offer James 2 mill to be fair though.James really wouldnt have much of a shot against wlad though because this is a horrible fight for james style wise.The guys that gave Wlad problems were all agressive guys who had top notch heavy weight power peter-sanders-brewster.The game plan to beat Wlad is to attack and rock him with hard shot make him nervouse and get him to wear himself out trying to defend by throwing shots.Every time they put smaller guys with little power infront of Wlad he just stands at a distance in his comfort zone and kills them with that long reach.
