Wladimir Klitschko is DUCKING James Toney!

I'm sure you all read by now that Toney rejected Wlad's ridiculous offer of 1.5 million to fight him after he made 2 million versus Rahman, and 3 million versus Holyfield. Well, team Klitschko just admitted what Toney's counter offer was....

2.5 million!!

Wlad Klit is so scared that a reasonable counter offer like that is non-negotiable and they're walking. It's a shame that Wladimir is that scared of a man half his size. I was looking forward to James putting the LIGHTS OUT on Wlad.

Toney should make 40% of the purse, not 15 or 20%. Wlad Toney fight should be 60/40. It wouldn't be right for Wlad to make like 10 mil to Toney 1.5 or even 2.5,

I guess Wlad really don't want the Toney fight.

Like the old days when he was WBO champion, Wladimir Klitschko is having a difficult time finding opponents. James Toney has rejected $1.5 million for a big November date with the IBF champion at Madison Square Garden.

"It's ridiculous," said Klitschko mananger Bernd Boente. "Can you imagine Toney - or his promoter (Dan) Goossen wants $2.5 million for the fight. That's impossible. For a realistic number Wladimir would love to fight him in the Garden."

For a man who has failed in his last two world title fights like Toney has, this decision appears curious. Presumably Toney is waiting for the far easier but less rewarding opprtunity to fight the winner of Rahman and Maskaev for the WBC title.

But with all the derogatory things Toney has said about Klitschko and his abilities during the last two years, it very much appeared Toney was eager to face and defeat Klitschko.

Perhaps a heavyweight bluff was called this week.

I agree with the article. Toney is a fool for expecting more, he talked **** before the bout but he wont back it up, yet hes being praised by his fans. 1.5 million is not a bad number...

Toney is just waiting for a shot at Rahman if he beats Maskeav, I actually dont blame the guy I wouldn't want to get my ass handed to me either...

For the record Toney is not the same man as he was when he fought Holyfeild. Plus that fight generated probley 2Xs as this one would.

And with Rahman, Rahman is closer to Toneys skill level so of course the purse would be cut closer.

With Ruiz, he got caught doping. and probley made less than this offer of 1.5

this is a possibility, but wlad is not nearly as good as you describe him hear. Though he would probaly win, a knockout is unlikley.wlad to schizophrenic. you just never know with that guy. fat james is well fat james and he is consistant.

You gotta be kidding. The fight should be 60/40. Not 80/20 Wlad. For Toney accepting 2.5 is un real, he can make 2.5 or more against Rahman.

Wlad is ducking Toney, no ifs and buts about it, it's has been proven now.

toney was offered 1.5m to fight wlad, toney wants 2.5 mill which he doesnt deserve theres no fight, toney isnt a belt holder, a mandatory, or a draw, he got caught using roids vs ruiz and he got draw vs rahman, theres no duckign anyone here cept maybe toney wanting nothing to do with wlad

actually aside from the saunders fight wlad has always been a dominate fighter ...a few more rounds with brewster at the rate he was hitting him at and brewster woulda been brain dead

and for the record i didnt describe klitchko as being good i just said if he murdered byrd whos more mobile then toney why would toney stand even more of a chance...klitchko could just bull him into the ropes and keep pounding him till the ref stoped it toney'd have no way to come back! ...rahman bulled his ass into the ropes whenever he wanted to in there fight so why wouldnt klitchko do it?

On brewster, I agree. I dont understand the hype around him he is a puching bag. I have never seen wlad agressive. with Byrd, How hard is it to hit a target that is walking foward and not moving its head. Toney will not do that.he is much harder to hit than byrd was in his last fight. And Rahman? Why are we discussing scrubs? With the clean shots fat toney hit him with, a real heavy would have knock him the **** out.

i dont know if any of you wlad haters are aware of this but klitschko said on his website in an interview a list of who he would like to face
he said, rahman valuev, liakhovich(sp?), james toney and lamon brewster.
n your telling me ehs scared of a juiced up supermiddleweight?
toney should be fighting against guys like jeff lacy and joe calzaghe maybe u could argue guys like o neil bell, not wladimir klitschko, but when he does it'll be lights out on a great career for toney.
