If it makes anything beyond 1.4 million PPV buys, then it will be the #1 fight not involving an American in it. So that will be a historic record.
Like I've expressed before, change the roles: make Canelo a 100% fluent English-speaking American and make Maywether Jr. a non-American non-English speaker, go back in history, and I'd bet Floyd would be a nobody and Canelo would easily be today the guy with the biggest selling PPV events ever. That simple. It's all about being or not being an American, in the boxing business. An of course, do the sme experiment with Pacquiao, and it would be even worse for Mayweather Jr., if Manny was American he'd easily be the PPV king of all time, even if Canelo was an American as well, because Manny is a freak of nature and a true fan-friendly fighter who was always entertaining and never ever cowardly.

We are not on that era where a lot of fights could break the 1mil mark, these are different times.
About DLH you know Oscar is not rational anymore.

i remember years ago watching the floyd/ortiz fight at my girlfriends parents house...and my gfs mother, who knew basically next to nothing about boxing, was intrigued by a red headed mexican....she actually wanted to see him fight once she heard about him and i gave her a little background...she was actually more into watching him than she was the main event
