Yup it had a $27000000 gate,& I believe the promoters when they say the numbers the ppv did,way more than I believe lance "fugly-pugley" pugmire as Pugmires #s are completely unreliable, when a promoter gives out ppv numbers they are opening themselves up to being sued if they lie,& their reputation is at stake as things always get leaked & would make them look horrible if they're caught in a lie. If a hack like pugmire is wrong as he usually is,then nobody cares as he was careful to use the qualifier of "someone told me" & that persons name is of course never given. I believe fishnets when he says its way higher than 1.3 mil as surely it was more successful than nelo vs jr which did 1.3 million, theres no way it attracted same audience amount.

I think you are missing the context here, Mayweather (The biggest ppv star of history) drew 550k against Berto, did 325k against Baldomir, 900K VS Maidana.

Even the King needed a strong B-Side to surpass the 1 mill mark, by this I'm aknowledgin that Mayweather beats the **** out of Canelo in terms of star power.

But after the May vs Pac era, only a freak of a show nature mainstrem event could draw insane numbers in May vs McGregor and only 2 guys not named Mayweather or Pacquiao have been able to pull 1mill+.

So in my humble opinion considering all that I just said and considering that 3 weeks earlier we had the Mayweather fight I think 1.3 was a huge success.

1.4MM Trinidad vs. DLH is not the same as Canelo-GGG. Tito-DLH was much bigger given population, number of homes with access to PPV and inflation.

Not saying this wasn't a good PPV but it wasn't on that level.

This fight was promoted as the biggest fight since May-Pac and the lead promote told us that it would do at least 3 mil PPV buys.

It was a huge PPV bust.
I think it was a big success, considering a legendary fight like Ward vs Kovalev with arguably 2 of the top 5 p4p did less than 300k in their two fights combined.

We are not on that era where a lot of fights could break the 1mil mark, these are different times.

About DLH you know Oscar is not rational anymore.

Even if pugly pugmires right about it being 1.3 mil(which is rediculous considering nelo vs Jr did that much & surely that audience bought this as well as way more ggg fans/nelo haters/casuals/& hardcore fans) that would still mean the fight generated at least 150 million from domestic market alone as 27 mil gate + $80× 1.3 mil=131,000,000 then factor in bars which is at least 20 mil,if you factor in overseas that should bring in @ least another 20-30 million as tv azteka & televisa in mexico paid to show it free ota,& in uk all the networks paid millions to air it or charged ppv to watch it.

So your looking at potentially 180 million, the network takes half domestic ppv so that would mean they took potentially 60 mil & canelo supposedly got 75% while ggg got 25% of the other 90-100 mil the fighters split, while I'm estimating that the 20 mil went to everyone else like promoters etc. So that would mean canelo wouldve made easily 60-75 mil & ggg 20-25 mil during an era where most fighters including ggg would normally make like 2 mil a fight at the most. And imagine if it actually did 1.7 mil plus which im sure it did.that would mean an extra 32 mil+ So bottom line is this fight generated between 180-210 mil realistically worldwide,& that means canelo wouldve earned more than 100 mil in 2017 alone. Damn!!
