DLH sure as hell wasn't #1. Hatton wasn't even ranked as a WW. Marquez wasn't ranked as a WW.

Errol Spence or Keith Thurman might as well fight #1 Jorge Linares
    Hernendez was #1 at 130

    Castillo was #1 at 135

    Canelo was #1 at 154

    Baldomir was #1 at 147

    Cotto was #1 at 154 in 2011

Gatti was ranked #1 at 140

Pacquiao was the #1 challenger in 2015

    thats 7 right there

You don't think he couldn't start negotiating with Spinks for the title immediately after for a summer 08 showdown?

You can't be that dense can you?

That means Floyd fights who he wants when he wants to fight them. If he she's a guy he's confident he can beat, he can fight him.

If he see's a guy he doesn't think he can beat, he can simply retire for a few years and come back when things die down. Sound familiar?

Floyd can fight Jeff Horn tomorrow. What's Jeff ranked? #1 maybe?

But who's the better matchup: #1 Jeff Horn or #2/3 Errol Spence?
so are you mad because HE CHOSE TO FIGHT THE BEST FIGHTERS? and hell no Horn isnt ranked #1..Thurman is #1 and Spence is #2..Horn isnt even top 5..hell he is #8

But Cotto hadn't beaten the great Alfonso Gomez by that time. You said duck Margarito, he would have had to duck Alfonso Gomez too if he signed at the end of 07.

Keep reaching. You're ducking that Cotto ducked Mosley to fight Margarito because Margarito was seen as an easier fight..

Floyd said he had nothing left to prove in boxing when he had Williams, Margarito and Cotto waiting in the shadows. That's as objective as you're going to get.

Floyd shouldn't be congratulated for riding the bench and fighting JWW's/Lightweight's at Welterweight. I don't know about you, but ATG's don't get honored for retiring and not fighting top guys for 4 years and conveniently coming back in the nick of time.

How can you figure out who the best was with this lineup when Floyd retired

              Floyd Mayweather Jr., Champion
              Miguel Cotto
              Paul Williams
              Shane Mosley
              Antonio Margarito
              Zab Judah
              Kermit Cintron
              Luis Collazo
              Joshua Clottey
              Jackson Osei Bonsu
              Oktay Urkal

P4P didn't start until 1989... Boxing has been around since the late 1800's. P4P is a flawed sample.

4 years after he was supposed to face him. Floyd beat Cotto 3 years after Floyd labeled Cotto "damaged goods". Great job at pointing that out.

Floyd fought Pac 6 years after Cotto.
Floyd fought Mosley almost 3 years after Cotto.

              Are you serious right now?

Floyd wouldn't even fight Margarito unless it was for like 20 million. Get lost

Yeah, cause it makes sense to congratulate Floyd for sitting the bench and dock the real fighters for, you know, fighting.
None of your written diarrhea does anything to suppress the fact that Floyd still beat Cotto and beat guys who beat him and the fact that it is Floyd who was at the highest on PFP lists for years and highest on the ATG lists, not Cotto. Live with it or take your depression medicine because it is what is is. You are not the consensus, the consensus is.

                Floyd Mayweather Jr., Champion
                Miguel Cotto-beat him
Paul Williams-moved up to 154 and even 160
                Shane Mosley-beat him
Antonio Margarito-lost to Williams and then got caught cheating
                Zab Judah-beat him
                Kermit Cintron-lol
                Luis Collazo-come on son
                Joshua Clottey-tough but to limited
                Jackson Osei Bonsu-who??
                Oktay Urkal-who??

you clearly see who the best is

                  Canelo was #1 at 154, not 152.

You might as well count Pac fighting Marg for the JMW title.

                  Baldomir was #1 at 147
Here are the Ring rankings for 2005:

                  Zab Judah, Champion
                  Antonio Margarito
                  Cory Spinks
                  Shane Mosley
                  Luis Collazo
                  Thomas Damgaard
                  Kermit Cintron
                  Jose Antonio Rivera
                  Oktay Urkal
                  David Estrada
                  Carlos Manuel Baldomir

                  2006

                  Floyd Mayweather Jr., Champion
                  Antonio Margarito
                  Carlos Manuel Baldomir

                  Miguel Cotto
                  Zab Judah
                  Luis Collazo
                  Kermit Cintron
                  Oktay Urkal
                  Arturo Gatti
                  Paul Williams
                  Joshua Clottey

If you're going to say Baldomir was #1 and there was no need to fight Margarito, you might as well say Floyd should fight Jeff Horn and there's no need to fight Spence or Thurman.

Gatti was ranked #1 at 140
Gatti was not #1. Hatton had beaten Tzyzu for 140 supremacy.

                    you trolling idiot

Floyd retired in 2007 and beat those guys you listed 3-4-5 years later if he even fought them at all

You're not to bright are you?

If Cotto goes for the #1 JMW Spinks, the ONLY negotiations in early 2008 after Floyd's retirement should've been with Spinks.

I agree, Cotto should've ducked Margarito for the #1 JMW Spinks.
