Where can I watch/listen to Boxing experts cover this news, talk about the fighters, talk about the matchkups (when the get made), etc. What should I be looking out for. This seems like it's a big thing. I'm looking for CONTENT for this thing.Last edited by USMCer; 07-07-2017, 06:14 PM.

Damn I was excited for this before, but every single fight in the first round looks like a mismatch, and half the second round fights look like mismatches. You really need 8 top guys to make these work, not 3 out of 8. I'm psyched guys like Usyk and Gassiev will fight eventually, Gassiev and Breidis in round 2 and Eubank and Smith in round 2 is also pretty good, but it looks like the majority of matchups not just in the first round, but in the first and second round combined, will be mismatches. Breidis-Huck again? Seriously? Didn't they just fight in a 12-0 type of fight? Any matchup but a rematch of that would have been better. They should have put it in the contract that Breidis couldn't pick Huck.
But, it's still the best tournament in boxing in... forever. Wake me up for the 2nd and final rounds and I will be hyped up again! So they did a great job considering. It's just disappointing to start it with such a dead first round. Also, if after the 2nd round, they can do a loser's bracket on the undercard of the finals, that would make it even better. Maybe the two most impressive "losers" of each weight category fight each other on the undercard and the winner of that bracket will get first crack at the loser of the final, so you can kind of recycle the best guys into different matchups which is what boxing has been missing for a long time. Then that winner could fight the champion again.

See the entire problem with this tournament is the #2 and #3 seeds both have an easy fight in the first round, but then they will have two tough fights, while the #1 seeds Groves and Usyk both basically have a bye until the finals. If they had gotten 4 top guys per division, not just 3, then everyone would have two competitive rounds, round two and the final. But because there are only 3 top guys per division, only the #2 and #3 seeds will have a tough second round, while the top seed is basically going to be in boring fights until the final.
The tournament is cool, but it's really, really missing the 4th top guy in each division. I mean ideally you would have 8 top guys, but at least 4 top guys gives you two great rounds. Having just 3 means means you are only going to get two competitive fights per tournament, instead of three. Two competitive fights really isn't a tournament. They should have just made Eubank vs Smith, winner fights Groves, and Breidis fights Gassiev, winner fights Usyk, and skip the pretense that this is a real tournament.
