I wasn't sad. I was annoyed that an average journeyman guy like Horn and not a more respected top tier fighter like Crawford, Thurman or Spence got the fight so the "torch" could be passed as it has been historically.

Yea agree. This is a cruel sport. Thats why I've always felt older guys should be more into getting in, getting busy & getting out. Boxing is no sport for anyone past 33, 34, 35 year old. Of course there are outliers that are the exception to the rule, but rarely does anyone do their best work at an advanced age & if you aren't at your best in boxing I'd argue you shouldn't be in boxing.
In reality there should be about half the active boxers there currently are probably if you got out the untalented, the old & those who lose too much.

I see why Arum won't match him with anyone not in his stable and was pushing for this Horn fight so bad.
Manny has had a great career but when you even have a close fight with someone of Horn's caliber and you are an ATG fighter then it is time to retire. Manny made it from nothing in life and has lived his dream but the ride is over.
Sounds exactly like mosley once he faded. You know where this is going if he keeps fighting. His timing and reflexes are diminishing now and will only get worse.
If Pac fights into his 40s, he will be a resume stuffer for all the younger guys, like Mosley was for canelo

The only thing that made me sad ... is a 38 yr old legend, father of 5...shouldn't be headbutted and elbowed, bloodied from these dirty tactics while being robbed of a victory.
NOT worth it. He deserved better.

You have no credibility. Floyd defeated all the boxers you posted he needed to in order for him to be an ATG. When he did, you deleted the post and lied about what you posted, only to be proven a liar by posters that had quoted the post.

We'll Floyd didn't as well. I didn't hear you saying your annoyed at Floyd for fighting berto instead of a higher tier fighter like GGG, brook, Spence or Thurman when he took berto fight!Last edited by hugh grant; 07-04-2017, 10:25 AM.

Go to the Berto/ Floyd thread. Read what I posted, quote it for proof, then I will respond.
You have no credibility.

Manny is the type of fighter who relied a lot on his freak athleticism he's only going to get worse and worse with each day. He doesn't have the type of style that will allow him to be an elite fighter into his older age like BHop, Mayweather, and Marquez.
