I cannot believe how many people on this web site on all sides of the equation decided to turn a boxing match into a race war! You would think some people, especially the regulars, would take the high road and not stoop so damn low to engage in such nonsense. Some should be getting a permanent ban for throwing gas on a fire. Shame on those for lacking maturity instead of showing they are better than that, which obviously they are not.Last edited by richardt; 06-18-2017, 05:19 PM.

yep, agree
the best euro's are Lomachenko and Golovkin..... but my favorites are Loma, Kova, Usyk
Loma is a freak, I am real high on him..... Kovalev is a nasty beast, I like his mojo..... and Usyk is a real character, a top bloke
I like most of the euro fighters, especially Lomachenko

I just watched the fight in its entirety. Just as I suspected, the Kovalev fans who were complaining about low blows are full of it.
I think Kovalev was putting on a very lame acting job throughout the fight. The punch Ward threw in the second round was not low. It was on the beltline. No way it would have caused Kovalev to bend over like he was just kicked in the n....ts! That was an acting job.
The punch in the 7th round was slightly low, but, again, no way was it bad enough to cause Kovalev to bend over. That was an acting job. The first body shot that Ward threw in the eighth round was on the beltline. Among the last three punches that Ward threw, the first*was a legitimate body shot, the second was low, and the replay made it impossible to see if the third one was low. However, Kovalev was already bent over when Ward threw those last three punches, , so you cannot blame Ward if he was aiming for the body and hit Kovalev low, just as you can't blame Ward if he hit Kovalve by accident when Kovalev turned his back on him the way Kovalev did in the seventh round.
Ward won the fight legitimately. The stoppage was justified because Kovalev was crouched between the ropes and out on his feet.

There's a reason why Kovalev hunched over like that, and it wasn't a low blow. It's because body shots ****ing hurt.
Unless Kovalev has his meat and two veges sticking out of his lower abs? I know a few of you around here haven't had your balls drop yet, but I'd suspect Kovalev ain't riding that high.
Ward battered him, to the point where he was offering nothing back and just wanted to get out of there. Anyone crying robbery needs to go away, and leave the discussion to boxing fans who don't act like that just had a brick dropped on their head.
